In the course of taking my Mega CD 1 apart and putting it back together to try and see what was wrong with it I came across this big switchy thing on the left hand side. It it massive, has the word "lock" written on it, moves back and forth and when I took the top off it appeared to be just a big piece of plastic with no function whatsoever.
What is it and what the hell is it for??
Locking in the mixing cable that runs from the front of the MegaDrive (headphone jack) to the mix socket on the MCD1, just keeps it tidy.
I need a cable?
Only if you want stereo output from a model 1 Genesis through the Sega CD. It has a 3.5mm headphone plug on each end.Quote:

LOL I always thought that lock was supposed to "lock" the Genesis to the SegaCD and that mine was broken.
There is a device like that on the TurboCd.
