I did this back in 05 on Classic Sega Boards on IGN. Wish it was still there but oh well this is for all those games that came over here and art was just butchered over here. Sometimes all 3 regions get different artwork.

The US version bears virtually no resemblance to the game itself. Instead it looks like something from a B movie from the early 90's.

In the US, someone decided that the name was in Spanish- or at least SOUNDED Spanish- so they redrew the artwork to match.
Early Mega Man games are known to have ass-tastic artwork outside of Japan.

Actually, there are others, like Castle of Illusion (due to frame on the Japanese version) and maybe Quackshot and World of Illusion, but in all three cases the Japanese cover looks pretty good too.Quote:

Snatcher was the only one that wasn't changed.
1) EU (althgough same artwork as the Japanese version)
2) Japanese
3) EU again (although same artwork as US version), dunno the artwork of the Japanese version
That's due to something that apparently nobody in the universe who posts images on forums knows about called "browser cache". Empty your cache and reload the page. You'll have t move the images and host them on another site if you resolve the issue.Quote:

That guy on the Lords of Thunder US boxart looks like an enemy out of Legend of Zelda. He looks like one of those guys who rides on the horses with the big shields.

Neither one is particular great and while Blaze is still in the wrong outfit she is pretty sexy though.
I love how Max is some skinhead, and the thugs look nothing like in the game. This cover is so bad. I remember that as a kid I tried to find somekind of explanation as to why they looked so different to how they appear in the game. Also what's "War-A-Power"?, it's "Grand Upper".
The real strenght of the Japanese covers for BK2 and BK3 is that they're covering the entire box from front to back. And like the front cover for BK1, the back on the BK2 and BK3 covers show some of the game's enemies, like Jack, Shiva, Electra or the bikers on the back of BK2, and Ash, Mona & Lisa and Jet on the back of BK3.
MUSHA got by pretty well, though I still like the JP cover more.
