Hi probably asked before
Is there a game with no infinite loop that in default (ROM) mode (no emulator), nobody has ever finished?
if that does not exist what are the hardest of the hardest in ROM mode
For me Tintin au Tibet is an a^^ difficult game
Do beta testers actually have to finish the games or do they have cheats in order to test the final stages?
EDIT: keep it Sega CD/32X/Genesis games please. otherwise the scope is too wide!
There's a huge difference between a difficult game and an unfair game. Thunder Force IV is difficult and Fantasia is unfair and frustrating. Then there are games like Kid Chameleon that aren't unfair nor difficult but have like 10 billion stages and no password function or anything.
There are many, many old Spectrum and Commodore 64 games that are literally impossible to complete due to bugs that weren't found before release. On the console front i'm not sure, i'd imagine there were probably a few cheapo games made for a quick buck that have similar bugs.
On a similar note I bought Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt on the SNES today and jesus is it difficult, I'm having trouble getting off the first level!

Definitely not the hardest but if we're keeping it to the Genesis/32X/SegaCD Zombies Ate my Neighbors has always been a game thats pissed me off. It's not so much hard as it is just 50+ levels with no save function and by the time you get above level 40 (Around as far as I ever got) there's only 2 or 3 people left you can save, unless you can be really good for 40 levels straight. I'll beat it one day, I'll probably just have to leave my Genesis on for a couple of days while I go at it.

@gamegenie sorry to make you feel bad but I finished Eternal Champions with all players except Jetta. Requires practice though. With Trident it is much easier however.
I've beaten Target Earth without continuing, and Hellfire on "Yeah Right" with three continues. But for me, the Genesis game that's stupidly hard to beat is Road Rash. The five final races are ridiculously hard because you have to haul absolute ass to even stand a chance at placing in the top four, and the roads are littered with oncoming traffic. It's just one head on collision after another. And since you need the fastest bike to stand a chance, you're also flying off the road constantly as you try to go as fast as you can (catching godly amounts of air to boot).
A tough last few tracks is one thing. But the final five on Road Rash are simply cruel.
Target Earth was tough to figure out when I first rented it when it was released. But once I did, I finished the game without dying.Quote:

Shadow of the Beast 1 (cart) & 2 (CD) are both VERY difficult without cheats.

The Adventures of Batman and Robin was stupidly tough. A situation made infinitely worse by the boring, severely overlong, top down shooter sections.
I loved Super Ghouls'N'Ghosts but it drove me nuts. It is one game I wish was just a bit easier.
I second the notion that The Adventures of Batman and Robin is extremely tough. The enemies are always on you like white on rice. The health power-ups only restore a sliver of heath per item. Without full charge on your weapon, the enemies take several hits to take down with a half a dozen on-screen at any given time. With max continues I'm only able to get to the first boss so far before I'm wiped out. Another one I find to be pretty tough is Contra Hard Corps with it's one hit you're dead with bullets flying everywhere gameplay. I'll have to get the Japanese version with it's health bar. I still love both games btw but their difficulty had to be mentioned. :)
Maybe it's just because it sucked, but I found Blaster Master 2 to be extremely difficult.
No mention of the horrendous Shaq-Fu?
When I was younger, I found Tailspin for Genesis literally impossible. I don't think I ever made it past the first stage.

Actually I beat Fantasia about two weeks ago. The last level really sucks -- very difficult with a lot of stupid enemies. It's the worst level of the game. And it's real ugly.Quote:

I think I'm really going to have to check out Blaster Master 2 properly soon, I always heard it was bad but after getting hold of a bunch of old magazines I've found it seemed to get pretty good reviews, nothing amazing but around 80%, the other game with a similar problem is Sword of Vermilion, which many mags actually really like.Quote:

Hellfire on HARD with 1 continue. Also beat my share of stinkers such as Cybercop and Dark Castle, which I find to be difficult - and frustrating, much more than Fantasia - as well.

Battle Squadron ain't easy at all.
Zero Wing and Hellfire need some skills as well.
And of course Shadow of the beast 1, that's one of the most obvious choices.
Twin Cobra is another shmup that is hard as hell. It's like Fire Shark in concept with a difficulty multiplied by ten. :o
That's my vote too. Bart's Nightmare and Virtual Bart aren't far behind. Bart Vs. The Space Mutants isn't only hard, it is made worse by atrocious controls and absolutely arbitary, and constantly deadly, puzzles.Quote:
