Didn't Order of Ecclesia use somewhat "traditional" Castlevania levels during the first half of the game? I seem to remember reading something to that effect.

It was really Symphony of the Night, but recently a number of people have gotten "clever" and started fingering Castlevania II.
In truth, this is decidedly NOT the case, as 2 followed more of a Zelda-like design.
Anybody who's played CV Curse Of Darkness, will be wary of any 3D Castlevania title. The new trailer isn't impressive, having high production values isn't the game saver for me. I was happier to see the character 'run' and jump a minute and a half in, than the rest of the trailer's useless attempt to 'woo' me.
That being said, I have faith in Kojima Studios, for reasons previously stated.
The teaser trailer looked alright I guess.
I'm a big fan of Castlevania but I've yet to get a GBA/DS so I haven't gotten to play through most of those. I have played Circle of the Moon on an emulator and it was decent, seemed rushed though. A classic style Castlevania would be nice and Iga did say something about Mega Man 9 and Wiiware. A remake of Dracula's Curse would be nice, I would prefer it have upgraded 2D graphics instead of the 3D(er 2.5D) they did for Dracula X Chronicles but I'd take anything at this point.
Hey! I was just thinking. Do you think a Castlevania side scrolling Beat-em-up would have been successful back in the day?
Kind of like X-Men, Vendetta, or TMNT but with Castlevania characters?
I think it would have rocked.
I don't know, are there that many recognizable Castlevania characters from the old games? The only one I can think of by name is Simon.
I guess it could be fun though, Konami was good at those brawlers.
Sounds good to me, That also reminds me of the OBoR engine.
Here's an older thread I posted a month ago:

This is the closest thing to an combat-action based Castlevania that looks remotely decent.
Mega props go out to Christuserloeser for being a part of the effort in that scene.
Alucard, Richter Belmont, and Simon are probably the most recognized.
Heh, guess I stand corrected. Those are actually the only characters I can name off the top of my head (besides the two in Bloodlines). The only games in the series I've really played extensively are SotN and SCV4.
I guess I beat Circle of the Moon too but I don't remember a damn thing about that game.
I guess they could have used the characters from CV 3. The dude that walks on walls, the guy with the white cloak and magic, and a Belmont with a whip.

That's Sypha Belnades, a witch with 'man-hands' thanks to nintendo power's concept artists slinging dope in between their bow-tie straightening sessions.
