The laser turntable has got ya covered!
You know, if you properly balance and track your turntable, wear will be so low you won't notice it until after about 300 plays.
I'd like a laser gramophone.... I would listen same stuff for 300 times a week, lol (that is, if its really great like "Laser Gun - Kozmoz" :3
Hum. That's a tough question. CD has better sound quality, on my speakers at least, but there's something wonderful and nostalgic about vinyl that just makes me want to listen to the whole album. For whatever reason, I find myself zoning out when I listen to music on CD and paying full attention to the music when I listen to music on vinyl. (And yes, I'm young, but vinyl induces nostalgia in me. When I was 11 or 12, my dad gave me a phonograph and a box of old records saying, "You don't need a CD player, we have all this great music on vinyl already.")
But hey, I rip them both to my computer for listening on the go. Which is more often than I listen to music at home, so I guess it doesn't matter.
CD, of course. What are you, daft?
I collect vinyl and pretty much grind my teeth when I do get something on cd, bc I know I usually end up sitting on the case of my cds and they get all smashed and scratched whereas I take really excellent care of my vinyl. I also really prefer the look of the huge album covers so you can really enjoy the art. I really like a lot of older hard to find music and vinyl is the way to go.
I prefer iTunes :pQuote:
Do you Prefer Vinyl or CD for listening to music?
Usually I prefer CDs, because they're easier to handle - and I can convert them to MP3 fairly easy.
I like the huge covers of vinyl records, though. If the artwork is nicely done, it's always better to have it in the larger version.
And then there's music that you HAVE to listen off vinyl - with all the "degrading" sound and the noise being part of the music. Listening Glenn Miller off CD just doesn't feel right.
I wheel around a couple of Technics 1200s in a wheel barrow. Only the best for me.
The only record I have ever worn out has been Daft Punk's Discovery.
CD
Vinyl all the way. Digital sucks plain and simple. Analog has always been simple, cheap, and has a more organic 'real' (if that makes sense) feel to it. Like how I like my laserdisc player over my DVDs.
