I did a comparison by recording some audio from Road Rash on my 2 model 1's one being the early TMSS Free High Definition Graphics model and the other being a late (V7 I think?) model 1 witch from what I hear is the same inside as a Model 2. Both recorded from the stereo headphone jacks at full volume into an ATi 650 Tuner card.
I can hear the difference myself.

Yes, I can hear the difference. Late model 1/model 2 sounds more noisy and distorted, especially the bass drum.
I can hear it, too, definitely a difference. The Early sounds clearer and more vibrant. The Later/2 sounds a bit muffled.

the second system sounds a bit like an internal pre-amp is overdriving into the cut-off levels
i wish he could retest at half volume to see if there is any difference
Definitely noticable and it doesnt help that the game has such crappy instrumentation to begin with.

I really do wish there would be less preamble (and ramble) and more to-the-point substance in your videos (it was definitely past the 2 minute mark before the comparisons actually began). I want to scream GET ON WITH IT!!!!

Seriously, isn't the early model-1 the only version ever to provide true stereo sound. the late model-1, model 2 and model 3 all tend to give mono.
P.S.> However, if this new "retrogen" coming out manages to sound at least like the model 2, I would be sooo happy. (When plugged into your TV, of course)
Umm not, the Genesis 3 is the only one limited to mono. All model 1's only oupult mono via the AV jack though, for stereo you need to use the haedphone jack. All model 2's ouput stereo via their AV jack, mono is also available on a seperate pin. (hence there are both stereo and mono av cables for the M2, plus the external RF box)Quote:

That way your video is more to the point, provides the exact same amount of information if not more due to more comparisons, is much less of a chore to endure and the actual content that is described in the title of the video is actually in the video more than just you talking. Otherwise your video title should be "MN12Bird talks about audio differences with some short examples near the end".
In other words, maybe a little planning would be nice instead of just picking up the camcorder and "winging it". ;)
