Sega Genesis arcade style joypad for 15.00
The only good deal I ever got at Play N Trade was a cart only copy of Crusader of Centy for $1.99.
The last time I went there they had loose genny carts of sonic and some other games not worth mentioning. I might check it out again one of these days.
Yes that was me! I recall they had Virtua Racing for the genesis complete in box with everything for $1.99 (before they moved all their retro games behind the glass). I can't believe I passed that one up!
I meant the one's I didn't actually get (which I should've); like Sword of Vermilion, Shining in the Darkness, Gunstar Heroes, etc...
Tyrants was ok back in the day. I remember it having a bit of a learning curve, then it becomes somewhat addictive for the passive gamer (like RISK).
$40 SNES Mini! http://www.super-nes.com/snes2x.jpg
They usually go for around $70 on ebay.
So very true. Every day now I wish I could get back to that Play N' Trade. I think maybe soon. It's more than 400 miles away, though.:(
P.S.> They're in Tampa. From what I've researched, they're supposed to have the biggest Retro library in South Florida (PlayNTrade-wise, that is).
I still wish we had our Play N trade here in San Antonio. It was literally right across the street from my house....Its just to bad the owner was a complete and utter moron and the store failed in under a year. The meathead wanted to be just like gamestop, but without the selection and higher prices.
It was cool walking in there seeing genesis games and systems though......What a waste of potential.:daze:
I've finally been to my local Play N Trade and found some nice deals:
Contra: Hard Corps. (loose)-- $7.99
Unreal Tournament (cracked case)-- $4.99
Thanks to a buy-one-get-one-free sale they were having, the following titles were free of charge:
Clue (w/instructions and replacement case)-- originally $2.99
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (loose, "Not For Resale" label)-- originally $0.99
Other great things they had (but I didn't buy):
-- 10-15 Sega Master System games w/box and instructions for $2.99 a piece (except for one).
-- A Master System light gun for $4.99.
-- Sonic 3 for $4.99 loose.
-- Paperboy (Majesco reprint w/torn label top) for $2.99 loose.
-- Lots of NES games loose for $2.99 and up. Boxed for $0.99 and up.
-- Star Wars for the 32X at $4.99 loose.
-- Many uncommon Atari 2600 titles for $1.99 and up.
@QuickSciFi: I can see why you'd travel 400 miles to this store, it's quite a place. I feel very fortunate that the one closest to me is only 20-25 miles away.
