Interest check: Chinese original games

Hey everyone.

I recently came across a whole buttload of chinese games for MD. I'm wondering how interested people would be in buying them? A lot of them come in original boxes or cart only, depends what you want. Here's the main titles I would assume to be of most interest:

I will note that there's only a couple that I'm pretty sure are the original from the company who made the game, while others are newer copies being resold by some other company(but look damn fine with their boxes). If there's anything else not on the list just ask and I may be able to find it...maybe. Anyway I dunno about prices yet, but I'm guessing at least $20 a game to cover expenses for the game + shipping + importing. This CAN change... possibly over $30.

Let me know. :) I'll probably get Barver for myself cuz I like the way the box looks, and sell it if anyone really wants it. heh

And take note, I don't own these yet. I'm going to buy some of them for myself, and am just checking to see if there's enough demand that justifies me getting some extra copies of stuff :)

But only if they have the boxes. I'd prefer if they were the original boxes, but that's kinda hard to know so I'll just take them either way. Do you take PayPal?

Ya, I do Paypal. Though I'm not opposed to money orders if anyone wants to go that route either.

I'll let you know when I get them. Everyone else please let me know what you want. ATM for myself I'm getting tons of nice things, including a strategy guide for Yase Chuan Shuo! Yep, they make guides for their games in Taiwan apparently :P Pretty classy stuff. But ya, I'm letting this thread run for a couple of days before I have my things sent out, so if you want your stuff sent at the same time.. :)

Alright. I can only get Shui Hu Zhuan and Jang Family Warrior boxed though, sorry. Others are cart only.

And about Mario World 64, I can't guarantee it because the cart is like the one I own already - it's titled Super Mario World 64....confused? :p Well, mine just so happens to be Super Mario 2 1998 instead of the mario world "port". So I assume with this game you can't trust the cart itself until you actually play it. I'm possibly just going to order one for now and check it out myself. I'll get others if it turns out to be the real deal.

Sorta the same thing for the Sonic 2 beta btw, if anyone's interested.

I'd change my order to Shui Hu Zhuan and Yang Family Warrior considering the other games aren't boxed. - Fingers crossed it's actually SMW 64!

Well, I may be able to get Lion King 2 boxed...

Let's just put it this way: from here on I'll listen to requests but won't bother telling anyone about if there's boxes or not. Once I place my order I'll let everyone know what I got, since I'm trying my best to get boxed versions of this stuff :)

Edit: I should double check with you guys since I actually confused myself, but Shui Hu Zhuan is the strategy RPG, not the fighter game, which is rather called Shui Hu Feng Yun Zhuan. BTW, new game added: Samurai Spirits 2.

I'll sadly drop Shui Hu Zhuan off my "list" because it's not the brawler :/. I'm still very interested in the boxed Yang Family Warrior though.

Since Chinese video game developers can't come up with stories of their own, they all base it on old books. These two are based on the same one (which is also what Suikoden is based on I think), that's why their names are similar.

Add a Shui Hu Zhuan to my list, Bramsworth (a friend to me you know wants it, and if it isn't available he'll take Conquering the World 3 instead, not both though). He wonders how much the player guides cost.

Ah, so someone DOES want that one afterall :P Well, I just made my first order(read: I'm still getting cash in to make a 2nd order of stuff) and I ended up getting that though no one wanted it.

The players guide for Yase Chuan shuo correct? I'm not sure yet...

As for Squirrel King I'm trying to get that boxed, but so far all I can find is that mario hack boxed.

About prices, I haven't decided them yet, because these are costing more than I expected, in addition to shipping overseas + the commission to the guy doing all of this for me. Just to give you all an idea: I've already gone over $100 =p

I'm considering trying to get my source here to get me an A'can as well, but haven't bothered asking yet since even if I wanted it I doubt he could find it with how rare they are, plus I'm probably not gonna be able to afford it lol

Edit: I meant to add, but I'm not getting everything everyone wants for the sole reason that I can't find it boxed. Since people seem to prefer complete games as opposed to carts anyways :p Everything I've ordered so far is complete, so if you don't mind cart only it's best to state that, otherwise I don't order it assuming no one will want it :)

it doesn't really matter if they all have the boxes, i'm just curious which ones you could find with boxes.

ATM I can get Mario World 64 and the Mario Squirrel King hack with boxes. Nothing else though.

I'm not ordering anymore stuff right now though. I'm really really paying more than I expected to and quite frankly can't afford it. :( So I'll be getting these things practically one at a time you could say. Among them Yase Chuan Shuo and Super Mario World 64, I'll be getting. I can't make promises for the others.

In case you guys can't connect the dots, my "guy" just gave me my bill for everything together, and I'm not pleased :P So ya, if no one minds waiting it out I'll eventually have everyone's requests, just not all at once :)

I would like to get Squirrel King, cart only is OK. I am willing to front the money if it helps.

Cool :cool: Well, I won't take your money just yet. I'll let you know once I decide to get it as I'm still paying off for my first package, which is costing me a bit.

BTW for anyone interested Sonic 2 beta is sadly definitely off the list. I saw the cart and it was just a regular Sonic 2 from Japan :( On the bright side, Mario World 64 looks to be genuine. :)

Hey all.

It's time you get some prices. Since I actually finished one transaction now I was able to come up what to sell them for. Bear in mind the key factors that make these prices: commission for the guy who's doing this for me + shipping overseas + costs for customs + the price of the game. Also keep in mind these prices do not include shipping, and that depends on where you are(I just sent out a strategy guide to someone in Australia for nearly $11 in shipping today :( )


All Genesis games, unless for special reasons(they cost much more, were harder to get etc..) - $35
This is for boxed complete. Cart only games are $15.

ATM these are the only games that have "special" prices due to how much more expensive they were than others:

Super Mario World 64 - $50, boxed
Yase Chaun Shuo - $55, boxed with instructions

And I'm not sticking to Genesis only. I'm getting a lot of Famicom games too like Chrono Trigger, Zelda A Link To The Past, Final Fantasy 7....a lot of this I'm collecting for myself :)

Anyway this is just a post to show what to be prepared for if you seriously want these. Ask any more questions if you want.

I'd be interested in Jang Warrior FAmily and Barver Battle Saga, cart only is fine with me.

CAn you get A'can parts, I have one and need a controller or two and a few games would be great, let me know if you have any hookups.

Can't get any A'can controllers I'm afraid. Finding anything A'can doesn't look like it's gonna happen.

My first package is still yet to arrive. I don't know how long it usually takes for stuff to ship from Taiwan to US, I just hope it won't be over a month. Either way, sometime by the half of next month it should be here.

I'd be hoping around at least $30 or so. Some stuff has been more expensive sadly.

Thought I'd inform you all btw that my first package arrived today. It's not the package with the lot of games though. Rather, when I first met this guy the first thing I asked about was Super Mario World 64, which he owned a duplicate of and sold to me. I had it sent out before having him start looking for other games. Anyways, it arrived today after FOREVER.

Comparision with my "other" SMW64 cart, which is actually Super Mario 1998 2 in disguise. I'm almost certain if you ever come across a SMW64 cart in a JP styled MD molding, it will likely be the same thing I ended up with, the SMB port.

I'm not selling until my "main" package with all the other stuff + another copy of this game arrives. Thought I'd at least inform you guys though that I am actually receiving stuff, as I know it's been tkaing an eternity :P

BTW I've yet to test it. Will get to it later, but I'm hoping it ISN'T the Mario Bros. port in disguise yet again XD

Edit: Oh, and the Super Mario 1998 2 is for sale for $40. Someone help me make back what I paid for shipping on the other package :(

Just divide the cost and add it on all games that arrive. It shouldn't be a lot for each buyer then :).

That's one reason I'm waiting everything to arrive before I start selling, so I can make fair prices considering the amount I spent. :)

Is Mario game region free? Already got a few Mega Key just in case.

I really couldn't tell you one way or the other. I'm either going to have to sell it to someone and they'll tell me, or I buy a non-TMSS model 1 Genesis and try it on there. I'm thinking it is likely to be TMSS issues due to the coding like someone else pointed out.

I might add that I really wanted to get to play through this game once myself before selling it, especially considering it's not dumped yet. So it probably won't be up for sale until then :P

I forgot to say, but for those who are only looking this topic and didn't see my other topic in the "Genesis Does" sub-forum, the game doesn't work on my US model 2 Genesis. You can look there for more details. :) Really would be nice if someone can give me a definite answer of what I need(i.e someone who's gotten pirates that didn't work on their model 2 systems either).

Added Wario Land 3 and Dragon Ball Final Bout to the list. I was told today that I can get them cart only. I'm not bothering to get them now though as I'm STILL waiting for the other package, and just can't afford atm to pay him to buy them. They apparently have several of each at the store though so until I make my money back to get them hopefully they'll remain there :P

As usual(not that I've sold anything yet.... heh) cart only games will be $15.

And for those that didn't see, Mario works now with cart swapping and was just a TMSS problem.

News for those who ordered Jang Family Warrior, and also why the package hasn't gotten here yet.

Turns out, it's never been shipped yet!! :P The guy took my money for Jang Family Warrior probably at least a few weeks ago now and was gonna buy it for me. Well, he apparently couldn't find any copies at the place that had it in stock when he told me he could get it, but he decided to hold onto the money anyways in case it shows up. Unfortunately, this delayed the package from ever being sent, and all this time it was "assumed"" that it was sent, when in actuality he was waiting to add 2 copies of the game I had requested originally from him.

In short, a lot of communication issues kinda screwed this up. Anyways I kindly requested he just send what he has right now to me, which he's doing. I got my money back for the 2 games and am going to purchase other people's requests with it for now, plus other stuff he was holding for my for a 2nd package. I told him to still look for Jang, so hopefully he finds it.

I'm really sorry for this. I'm just glad I haven't taken anybody's money yet. Well, except for NCrouther for Squirrel King, cuz I really needed the money to pay off shipping. Probably won't do that again.

Anyways, it should be here next week I'm hoping. For those who wanted Jang, I promise I'll try to get copies of it. They were boxed and sealed, woulda been pretty nice :(
