I don't think there are any Swedish Mega Drive games. Some Sunsoft games had Swedish programmers, NHL 95/96 got reprogrammed by Swedes into Elitserien 95/96 and there is some RPG coming up with two Swedish members in the development team though ;).Quote:

Most of the picks here are pretty right on. But what about the Dizzy game for Genesis? Great, but the only catch was this it didn't have a password or save feature. And isn't Red Zone also by the same people who did Sub Terrania?

PS: I'm pretty certain all David Perry games, except The Terminator (cartridge version), were actually developed in USA. That makes a mixed origin for them.
Yeah, it's probably wise to refer to most of the Virgin games as mixed origin (except Lion King which was wholly American I think), as though I don't personally see the actual country the game was made in as mattering (only the people who made it) it's very hard to pin down the nationalities of the people involved (Dave Perry was certainly not the only British guy involved with the development of Earthworm Jim, Cool Spot and Aladdin)Quote:

Yup. Tommy Tallarico had a major role in most titles by Virgin Games/Virgin Interactive and Shiny Entertainment.
Nick Bruty also had a lead in most David Perry games (until he left Shiny in 1997) and he's British indeed.
I'd say those games can be considered as American-British joint efforts taking place in USA. They can't be considered as purely European made though, but they still have an important European factor within them. It's depends what are you pointing with your distinction.
In fact, we can see something similar with Sonic the Hedgehog 2, whose staff is mostly Japanese (the Sonic Team crew) but it also had some American talents (from Sega Technical Institute) and development was done within Sega of America. Somewhat of a Japanese-American joint effort. Sonic the Hedgehog 3/Sonic & Knuckles, on the other hand, is almost entirely Japanese made, even if it was developed in Sega of America offices once again.
Mega Turrican. Everything about this game screams quality. Factor 5 really knew how to push the hardware.

And these seem somewhat underrated, at least on some sites:
Chuck Rock 2 - Just a solid platformer with decent replay value, big improvement over the prequel. Amiga version is more detailed but this one has superior level design.
The Lost World - Probably the best 16-bit JP game, large game world and neat coop mode.
Chaos Engine - Great coop run 'n gun with a fairly advanced AI and character builder.
Micro Machines series - amazing multiplayer.
Bubba n Stix - unique atmosphere and high challenge level. The sound took a hit though.

If my memory serves me correctly the Amiga version has more parallax scrolling (or more levels have more parallax scrolling maybe, as I seem to recal the butterfly level on MD having masses of shoddy looking parallax scrolling), I'm pretty sure the Mega Drive version is also missing enemies and levels, all the Mega Drive has is the ugly added in butterflies and I think a new level added in towards the end of the game.Quote:

At least on the first level the Amiga version has a static scrolling background (and foreground), while on the G/MD the same background is parallaxed. Also the Amiga version seems darker, but that can be due to emulation. About the amount of levels I can't say for sure, it's just that I tried the CD32 version of Son of Chuck out in emulation about two days ago, and decided to load up the MD version after it for comparison.Quote:
