Still, I can't blame the younger players for not owning a Genesis but at the same time, how many people call themselves gamers and almost don't know what a Genesis is:|:(

The numbers seem legit to me. Judging by their forums they have a lot of teenagers and younger whose first system was probably a PlayStation.

Gamefaqs is full of Nintendo fans. Just look at the character battle polls. Every time the winner is Link or some Nintendo character.

This says that more than 50% owned a Genesis. That's not very sad like you say, considering the rest probably owned a SNES instead, so at least they got some 16bit experience nonetheless.
