What game do you really like that most would consider to be crap/mediocre?

Hehe! I rarely see people discuss the Game Boy version and when I do find a review, it plays third fiddle to both the NES and Genesis version.

With respect to the Streets of Rage series, I really don`t have a favorite. I like them all equally. As I spend more time with each game, I`ve developed a fondness for each game in the series: They each present a level of difficulty that I enjoy depending on what kind of mood I am in.

SoR1 & BK3 I view as equal. Some folks completely despise part 3. Their loss, I say.

Yes, it's very weird to anyone who knows the Batman source. It just goes to show how well dev's knew their sources. Even if they thought it made for more fun gameplay, they easily could of changed it to batarangs being tossed non-stop a la Genesis Batman & Robin... some some crazy enough fan can fix this in the future?

This might be blasphemy, but I didn't hate Roar of the Beast. Sure, it's got a ton of problems (terrible hit detection, limited attacks, uninspired design) but for some reason, I keep coming back to it. It's got a dark atmosphere and haunting music and kind of drew me in. Still, I can understand why people hate it.

A lot of the hate SOR3 gets is very harsh and somewhat unfair in my opinion. I get that it's very difficult but when the one and only complaint you ever really hear about the first two games was that they were too easy then you can't really get too upset at the ramped up difficulty of the third one. I also understand that the Western release of SOR3 is a pretty much bastardized version of the Jap game that, for some unfathomable reason, Sega of America made some pretty big changes to but for what it is SOR3 is still a very good scrolling beat-em-up with another great Koshiro soundtrack and is very far from being a bad game.

I don't think anyone considers SoR3 bad or mediocre. Many people consider it a disappointing sequel (I'm one of them, even considering the superior BK3 version). And another many people hate the changes (for the worst) that SoA did to BK3 (I'm also one of them).

Actually calling SoR3/BK3 bad or mediocre though? Nah. Not as good as SoR2? Maybe.

A "crappy" or "mediocre" Genesis / Mega Drive game that I really like? How about a list;

1. Twin Cobra- A lot of people don't like this game. It's one my favorites.
2. Atomic Robo Kid- Trippy robot shooter with giant bosses. It's neat.
3. Outrunners- "It's not like the arcade." I don't care.
4. Outrun 2019- "It's not like Outrun." I don't care.
5. Fatal Fury- "It's not like the Neo Geo." See above.
6. Raiden Trad- "It's not like..." -oh, just f@#$ off already!
7. The Last Battle- Surprisingly not sh*tty!
8. Phantasy Star III- The opposite of non-good.
9. Final Zone- <cricket chirps>
10. Twin Hawks- Apparently, it's boring to quite a number of folks. Whatever. Just go back to your M.U.S.H.A. game. Ignore my blather.

The problem with RE is that, while it did greatly improved the graphics and frame rate, the level design and the game atmosphere took a major hit when compared to the original Jurassic Park.

Yeah; I have a little bit of time for (some) fmv games. I know Sewer SHark isn't very good, for instance, but it does have a weird kind of charm to it, some kind of cache.

JUmp up above mentioned Twin CObra; I didn't realize people are down on that game. I like it fine.

Maybe Golden Axe II, but Shadow Dancer is generally praised, especially by those who pplayed the original arcade Shinobi :)

I noticed that on the web, Twin Cobra gets some crap for it's graphics and difficulty. It's a great game, but popular opinion seems to categorize it as mediocre these days. Not that I'm particularly concerned about popular opinion, I like The Last Battle and Atomic Robo Kid afterall.

I'm trying to think if I've ever played Atomic Robo Kid. I can't remember... I don't own it... but I might have to go give it a try.
