I use Sweetspot PCI RGB capture card. It can record Composhit, s-video and RGB!!!!! I record mega drive with rgb and enjoy the best colors and image quality.
I just use scart splitter. I input rgb scart to scart splitter, then output with scart-3rca cable. Also dont forget to wire compshit to Green in the scart plug to get RGsB signal because then Sweetspot wont get the RGB signal properly because megadrive gives sync on composhit.
Just a heads up I got to try out the cheap Hauppauge 1250 PCI-e tuner the other day. No good on the Genesis. Half the time it didn't get sync at all. But when it did sync the colors were still all wrong. Way too washed out, pastel like and the rainbow banding was way worse than on a TV and many times big verticle scanlines in many of the shadow areas too. I tried using Dscaler and some options in there helped but the colors were still washed out and just not a clear picure. Once again the rainbow banding was like amplified to the point it was way more obvious. Weird.
Too bad becuase the software it came with has a "game mode" in the advanced options that eleminated any input lag. I could play in real time on the PC monitor with no issues there.
I was hoping to buy it and replace my ATi 650 since the software from ATi sucks and the input lag reqires a splitter and second composite monitor just to play on. The price is nice at under $60 Canadian for a PCI-e card with remote. But I guess it's of no use to me if I can't use the Genesis on it! So I'm sticking with the ATi for now...
I'd love to use this method but I ran into problems: I bought two different modern recorders (one is a VHS/DVD recorder, the other a HDD recorder) and both don't take 240p via RGB-SCART. :?Quote:

I'd like to use an Elgato to grab video from my XRGB Mini, but also want to use it for non mini capturing.
Do I need some sort of Scart to HDMI adapter to get that to work? I output RGB via scart from my MD.
