Anyone have any stories of really dirt cheap ebay deals? I have 2.
The first one is I won a scanner for $1. I then picked up the scanner from the persons place seeing that they lived less then 20km away.
The second one (the reason why I thought of posting in this thread) is a copy of PGA Golf II on the Mega Drive which I just won for $0.01. I practically just have to pay for postaging.

I got a wrestling DVD - Roddy Piper "Born To Controversy" 3 DVD set for €3.50 (free post to Ireland for some reason). That's probably my best bargain for a good while.
I missed out on CIB PDS for a bargain of 88 dollars back in 05 and to make things worse it was located in a city that was like 20 miles from me?
I got a copy of "Mega Man 2" for $5 shipped ($3 game, $2 shipping). Label was ripped, but the game plays perfectly. Nobody bid on it besides me.
Normally it went for $20+ cart only.
A great looking Gunstar Heroes cart for I believe $2.00 + 3.00 shipping. It had no description and the picture of it was a 20x20pixel mini thumbnail so no one else ever bothered to bid on it.
Stupidly good deals on ebay are becoming harder and harder to get, so I don't expect any more deals that good for many, many moons.
You mean they don't force sellers to offer free postage on all games yet? I left that off my "eBay is crap" ramble in offtopic. Must fix that. :pQuote:

My brother once sold a NES Top Loader complete in box in almost new condition on Ebay. There were two others that went for around $70 to $80 as I recall both were with out boxes. My borhters ended up going for $30. I can just imagine the guy bidding on that watching the other auctions and laughing at his fellow ebayers.
I bought Samurai Spirits 2 AES version complete, B+ (very good condition) for $0.01 a few weeks ago.
I just got Christmas NiGHTS into Dreams as a gift off of eBay from a relative, cost $11.50 (with sleeve!) + $1.56 Shipping. There was an auction that started a day or two after the one I bid on and it went to $21 plus $3 shipping.
All the BINs were over $35 with sleeve, and the cheapest one was $28 disc only. I think I grabbed a bargain there.

I got Axelay cart only for $13.50 AUD. I then checked the rarity guide. It's worth twice that.
Never any game deals, but I did get a model once that has been out of production since 1982. The only other one I've seen was going for $75 plus shipping from Japan ($40+). I got mine for $2 plus a couple bucks shipping from the States. It was a gamble because it was 'started' but just a couple parts off the trees, no big deal. It was quite a steal.

yeah, you can get some steals on arcade boards on eBay (I know AES=console, but it's a close cousin to the MVS). I guess it's because only somewhat electronically inclined people can get any use out of them as the lay man would just shit his pants if you asked him to hook one up. Kind of makes it an attractive proposition for me, why buy a $30 complete Genesis game when I can get the real arcade version for the same price?Quote:

ahem, notice I repeatedly said "arcade" vs. "AES" or "console." I know you were talking about the AES, but I was going on a tangent and talking about the MVS and other arcade boards. A normal arcade board takes a harness and usually a whole list of odds and ends to get them working. Samurai Shodown on Sega CD is my favorite version though, I am happy to say I own a mint copy.Quote:

I bought a Pioneer Laseractive for $30 on ebay. It didn't come with either the Sega or NEC Pacs and it was only advertised as "Pioneer Laser Disk" in the LD section, not in video games. Lucky that I just came upon it really, no other bidders. I ended up buying a Sega Pac with controller for $50 a few weeks later. Complete Laseractive system for $90.
yeah, that's one of those high ticket items that only a select few collectors know about. I imagine it's quite epic to have such a large Sega CD player, more epic than the THX blare. I'd love to use one, since I know realistically I'd probably never be able to get a working one for money I'd be willing to pay.Quote:

OH yeah, I forgot I got the Blood 2 PC Addon for like $10 NEW... goes for $40+ disc only.
Too bad "Blood 2" wasn't as fun as the original game.
I've got the "One Unit Whole Blood" along with the extra "Interactive Strategy Guide", I'm quite amazed it goes for as much as it does.

In case of the first one, I only played the original Blood, because at that time already I couldn't obtain it's addons (Plasma Pack and Cryptic Passage). It's too bad though. I'm still hoping Monolith any day soon releases the source code of those games so there could FINALLY be an XP/Vista/7 port of it, like Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior.
I thought I read (take this as pure room-uh) The either the source code was lost to "Blood" or Monolith doesn't hold the necessary publishing rights to release the code (I think more the latter).
It's really too bad though, "Blood" is a total blast to play.
The "Build Trilogy" (IMO) works like this:
Duke3D - First good use of the engine, some good one liners, weapons are awesome and useful
Blood - Great weapons make this fun to play, one liners are so-so.
Shadow Warrior - The weapons are weak (like baby fart), but the one-liners are outstanding.
I got my SMS2 on EBAY for 20 bucks. It was loose, just the console untested as he said he had no cables to test it with. But as we all know the SMS/Gen accessories all work on the SMS2 so I took a chance and sure enough it worked and was in good shape too!
