I have played a bit of Soldier Girl Amazon on MAME. I never saw the real thing back in the day.
I think Spider: The Video Game (PS) = Deadly Creatures (Wii) works better.

Ahh, yes that's what I wanted to know, only I thought the vaguer I left it the more likely you might be to throw out some interesting titbits.
Johnny Bazookatone (various) = Super Mario Bros (NES). Their physics are very similar; the one big difference being JB's momentum free longjump (sort of like Mega Man can do in the X games). But I can't think of an NES game that's closer and very few games use SMB's physics especially after the NES days.
A few more:
Ecco the Dolphin is to Genesis what Fathom is to 2600.
Bully is to PS2 what Skool Daze is to Spectrum.
Bangai-O is to N64 what Hover Attack is to Sharp X1.
After Burner: Black Falcon is to PSP what Blue Lighting is to Lynx.
Zaku is to Lynx what Air Zonk is to TG16.
Alleyway is to GB what Blockbuster is to Microvision.
^ = That's more like it. You ought to join Subtitle that Sequel.
Sqoon (Famicom) = In the Hunt (PS/SS).
Everblue (PS2) = Treasures of the Deep (PS)
Tales of Phantasia (SNES/PS) = Villgust Gaiden (NES).
Dance Aerobics with running machine (NES) = Wii Fitness (Wii)
Color a Dinosaur (NES) = Art Alive (MD)
5 month double post.
Sunset Riders (SNES) = Iron Horse (Arcade)
Galaxy Force II (Saturn) = Buck Rogers Planet of Zoom (C64) = Galactic Storm (Arcade)
Granada (Genesis) = Iron Fortress (Arcade)
Kung Fu (NES) = China Warrior (TG-16)
Ballblazer (Atari 8-bit) = BattleSport (3DO)
Spectre VR (Macintosh) = Immercenary (3DO)
Motion controls are to the 7th Gen as dingleberries are to ass pubes.
I'm still not sure I can contribute much to this thread but I think I get the idea. By the way, I'd never seen Galactic Storm before, awesome!
misAdventures of Fink (Sega CD / MD) = Super Mario Bros 3 NES/SNES. The bopping attack, butt sliding down hills and knocking enemies into each other is very similar.
And since we're adding peripherals.
Kinect = 32X but wildly successful for a longer stretch.
Playstation Move = Hitachi Magic Wand

Falcom is to Action RPGs what Square-Enix is to turn-based RPGs.
Final Fantasy X-2 is what sex is to hopeless nerds.
