I've seen this before. I don't believe it. They aren't going to call it the Dreamcast 2 nor is it going to have a blue ray player in it.
They would be fools to call it the Dreamcast 2.
I've seen pornographic orgasms that are less fake than that.
The man in me says: "I would drool, but my mouth is dry. I've seen, and talked about this too many times. I agree with Edge, Why call it the Dreamcast 2?"
However, the child in my says: "I want this now!"
Looks like plastic and some lights.
Unless Sega's trying to do what Nintendo is with the Wii IDK what to thin about this. But I am curious about the Sonic 2D game.
That is SEGA's new arcade hardware. It's called RingWide.
Don't forget RingEdge. (which has the 32 GB SSD)
They wouldn't. That's what everyone calls the next console by any given manufacturer (PS4, Xbox720, Wii 2), because they wouldn't know what else to call it since it doesn't have a name... and in this case probably never will, because it's not real.
I don't think Sega will ever release another console. Even worse than that is if they actually did and it was another "flop" like the Saturn and Dreamcast.
There is no way Sega can do a system, what can they offer that is different from the current competitors. They will dare not to go up against MS and Sony machines...that leaves the little Wii....which some might say lost its Edge(no pwn intended to Edge) and maybe Sega can take a stab at some new game play on a system that is not jacked up on graphics but awesome game play. Maybe needlemouse project can offer that and Sega will see how it does on the consoles now and go forward with new line of games for a new console for themselves.
They could go for middle ground, something that is a bit like the Wii, but also more appealing to "hardcore" gamers. And if they do go with something like RingEdge, they should be able to keep costs down. (but not be competitive hardware wise with any new systems coming out)
Agreed. There is enough tech out there that is totally understood from off-the-shelf parts to be a good game console. I wouldn't want to see a competitor with current consoles (meaning PS3 and 360) because of all the cool stuff there are lots of problems with them.
360 goes without saying, and the PS3 has a lot of online type issues from what I have read.
A standalone game-in-and-play with extras would be very welcome in my house. DVD or CD is also fine by me, I don't even have a BluRay player yet, see no reason to get one just yet. I remain hopeful.
