PS. I'm being ignored? Awesome!
I would just like to congratulate MrMatthews.....on not being ignored....(hands him a trophy)
For the rest of you newly ignored Peanut Gallery members I would like to take this time to remind you all to take as many vaccines as possible and double up on fluoride.
That is all. :ok:
Maybe I can turn this into a game.

Chemist addresses adverse health effects of water fluoridation
Paul Connett, Ph.D., executive director of the Fluoride Action Network, said fluoridated water threatens to lower children's IQs, increase the risk of bone fractures and cause infertility.
http://www2.fluoridealert.org/Alert/...r-fluoridation
So, Edge, do you strictly drink bottled water then? Or how do you manage to avoid flouridated water?
We have a water cooler at work and at home, but I tend not to drink tap water more because of the taste of chlorine than anything else.
First off, let me just say you survived the ignoring ban as well. So you and Matthews live to post another day. Congrats!
Regarding your question though,
My community’s water supply isn't fluoridated. Thank god. I do feel safer however drinking bottled water but it's somewhat of a Catch 22.
You can either drink all the harmful chemicals in the tap water (Like you stated above "chlorine" which is corrosive)
or
You can drink out of a plastic bottle and ingest some Bisphenyl A (Estrogen mimic, Hormone disrupter, Linked to breast cancer & developmental harm)
It's very difficult to completely avoid it. Some of the food and drink products may be manufactured using Sodium Fluoride tainted water. The best thing to do is try to limit your exposure to it. I believe the most important thing to do is not brush your teeth with toothpaste or mouthwash that contains sodium fluoride (read poison control label on the back). By doing this you will eliminate the biggest dose of Sodium Fluoride you get a day. The rest of the poison you may or not receive through food and drink products can be detoxified through the liver and kidneys. This is not good but its better then allowing large bits of it to be swallowed or absorbed through the mouth tissue.
Many of the safety managers at my work have informed me that they don't allow their children to use Sodium Fluoride toothpaste due to the effects on the bones and central nervous system.
That's what I've been saying! Except for the fact that you can just spit out your toothpaste like a normal person and rinse your mouth with water if you're still worried. No one in their right mind swallows toothpaste. True, it's hard for little kids to know that, which is why you're supposed to put a tiny dab (pea sized) on kid's toothbrushes in case they swallow some. I mean, it's that or lose your teeth, it's that simple.
You can also buy a water filtration pitcher like many people I know use. I happen to have great tap water at my house, but many places it's practically undrinkable. I'm not sure if the plastic in a Brita pitcher is something that can seep into the water, but I doubt it would. I think your taste buds can dictate if your tap water has too much of any one chemical/additive, so if it tastes good, it's probably alright. At any rate, better than live fecal bacteria floating through your water
Mix water with vodka, it kills anything in it. As for the fluoride.... can't say much on it other than we've been exposed to dangerous chemicals all our lives and there really is no escape now. If we are to get cancer from chemicals, chances are that the wheels are already turning for that.
Anybody worried about their water to the extent TheEdge is dictating would filter it, and boil it ... before calling a priest.
I'd love to witness his tin-foil skullcap blow off, with the realization that most 'bottled' water comes from a 'regular' water supply. Especially those water cooler jugs in offices, they usually take those to a distribution center which has basically 'A big filter' on a regular tap water line.
Well it all depends if your drinking out of a Type 1 Plastic bottle. If you turn over the bottle and see a number one circled by arrows then it has Pthalates and Bisphenyl A in it. If it's any other number (2 through 7) then the plastic is safe. I highly doubt that the water filter pitchers are type 1 Plastic because they need to be much more rigid to last.
There are ways to lower your chances. Most of them revolve around living in a clean environment, Eating organic, and taking cleansers. Fiber is good for you!
Fluoride doesn't "keep your teeth" it lowers your IQ, gives you bone cancer, central nervous system malfunctions, and actually causes DENTAL FLUOROSIS. Which is gross.....
Chlorine on the other hand is uselful but people need to get KDF filters to take it out. Restaurants use it for their water. So should we.
I'm just interloping briefly, and thought I should mention (as an outsider) that my skipping from page 2 to page 13 was a positive, rewarding experience.
I am now in the process of working backwards from page 13 until the stimulating photographs disappear.
That's all for the moment. Back to you.
Was it for the pictures, or Carmen Electra's Linux love?
Both are pretty rewarding.
Rusty is 110% Correct :ok:
This thread is ridiculous. Bottled water can contain more fluoride than tap water, there is less regulation (and no requirement to disclose the amount). Fluoride is a poison, but the amount you consume in tap water is far from poisonous. Any poison is harmless in small enough doses.
By the way, meat contains carcinogens, seafood contains mercury, dairy proteins are associated with asthma and Crohn's disease (and a link to autism is rumored), and eggs contribute to atherosclerosis, type 2 diabetes, and antibiotic resistance. Even honey contains trace amounts of cyanide and can also cause botulism. I hope you're a vegan, Edge.
I guess both plant and animal are pretty bad for consumption.
Maybe it's time to resort to photosynthesis for energy needs.
Speaking of ridiculous.......
A poison is still a poison no matter how diluted it is. Sodium Fluoride AND OTHER POISONS have no nutritional benefit at all and they never will. Sodium Fluoride is the toxic waste from fertilizer and Aluminum plants. It's not good for you.
Do you see the DoubleThink there ^Quote:

Children May get mottled teeth, known to cause dental fluorosis, Discharge from factories, erosion of natural deposits (on teeth AKA ENAMEL), and then they sneak in "Promotes strong teeth" LOL......EPA calls it a contaminant, Department of Transportation calls it a poison, ......
I'm totally astounded by how people defend their own poisoning. It's almost like they want to die.....
For the other junk you mentioned just eat organic.
I don't have to worry about the GMO vegetables, pesticides, artificial sweetners or preservatives because I eat all Organic Foods. The pollutants in the atmosphere are sadly unavoidable as of yet but I'm sure exercising and eating healthy can counter that.
Thinking that "Everything gives you cancer" is a defeatist and pessimistic attitude to live by. That's like saying I HAVE NO CHOICES, I HAVE NO SAY, I CAN'T EFFECT CHANGE IN ANYTHING! It's pathetic and sad and anyone with two braincells to rub together knows that every single consumer who is informed can make a change. If people stop buying products with High Fructose Corn Syrup they will get rid of it from their recipe....if people buy veggies grow without the use of harmful pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers then they will stop using them.
The problem in this world is ignorance and insecurity. People don't know whats going on and when someone tries to inform them the people then attack the messenger because they think he or she is "SHOWING OFF".
^ Let me guess? Attacks me.....brings no new information nor does he contest my stance...........says I insult people?
Do I get a cookie?
Yes Liar, Cookies sweetened with Aspartame. ;)
Ignorance and insecurity? I believe you sound more insecure than we do. You're convinced the government has an evil scheme to poison its citizens to appease the aluminum industry and make the people dependent by disabling their brains. We think they put fluoride in the water to prevent cavities. Which one of those things sounds reasonable? hmmmmm....
You basically concede that there are people far smarter than you that not only elude your detection but are also able to convince nearly EVERYONE of fraudulent claims so they become their...slaves? You still haven't named the motivation of why they do these things. Like I pointed out, if they wanted to cheap out on waste disposal, they would bury it in the desert, not ship it across the country for drinking water, that's just effing stupid. These people would also have to somehow elude these "poisons" themselves for their entire life, don't you think someone would catch on to someone walking everywhere with a Brita pitcher for the...50 or so years before everyone felt the need to weld a water bottle to their hand?
The only consistent theory I have had confirmed for any shortcoming of humanity is stupidity. Not sabotage, not conspiracy, just plain ol regular incompetence. You know what? maybe in 10 years they'll find something better than Fluoride and start using that. Who knows? Apparently the evidence against water fluoridation isn't substantial compared to the benefits.
The problem here is people don't want to accept that the world is really as stupid as it is, so they start connecting dots that aren't there to get "the man" in its many forms rather than just living with the apparently terrifying truth that humanity really doesn't know jack shit in the big scheme of things. Either that or you have a hero complex that you can't satisfy any other way than convincing others that all of the perfectly reasonable fuck ups that happen every day are intentional government conspiracies. We aren't being lied to, we're not being oppressed, people are just fucking up, period.
look, read all of this, then come back:
http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/rr5014a1.htm
that's from the CDC, not prisonplanet.com (seriously?) or some Indian scientific journal (again, seriously? you're going to trust the validity of a scientific journal from a country that can't even get its citizens properly fed?)
Yes, fluorosis and other problems are a possibility, which is why so much research was done to determine the amount to prevent bacteria-based teeth erosion (yes, it is a poison, for bacteria) without any severe side effects. There are many things adults need that kids don't or need different while they are developing. Simply giving a child an adult vitamin regularly could potentially cause complications. Like I and everyone else keep saying, it's all about amount and balance. 1 ppm of fluoride in the water is enough to clean your teeth, significantly more is bad news.
It's "still a poison" but that doesn't mean it's harmful in the amount ingested in tap water. Potassium chloride is also a poison -- used to execute people by lethal injection -- and yet it's also commonly used as an ingredient in processed foods, in bottled water, as a dietary supplement, and in water softener units. It's used to kill people, but most people consume small amounts every day. In small doses it has nutritional benefits. Yes, it's a poison and also has nutritional benefit. Seriously, look it up.
Most drugs/medications are also poisons. If you've ever popped an aspirin, or taken antibiotics for an infection, you've ingested poison.
A poison is only poisonous above a certain dosage/concentration. You keep ignoring this ludicrously basic fact. I don't believe you're this willfully ignorant -- you're just baiting at this point.
I didn't say it was an "evil" scheme but the EPA has stated that its a by product of the fertilizer and aluminum industry. So it's not as "Evil" as it is cost effective. Why dispose of it for an enormous price when you can get subsidies from the town and dump it for free in their water supply?
The funniest thing about this is that if they illegally dumped it and got caught they would face fines and criminal actions from government regulators for the illegal dumping of Poisonous hazardous material.
But its good......right?
I can't theorize about that. All I know is this stuff is toxic waste. If I had to guess I would say that wealthy people would have their own well water.
And what about all those people who get poisoned in the mean time? And there is more than enough evidence against water fluoridation but the country runs on cash and that's one thing the Aluminum, Fertilizer, and Pesticide companies all have much of. Most likely they will make a new ribbon to put on the bumper of everyones car for "Fluoride Damaged people". Kind of like the Breast cancer ribbon or the New Autism one. People feel much better when they have a bumper sticker that shows what they are dealing with.

Good article.
Sodium Fluoride is not a poison to bacteria and even if it was that means that your poisoning yourself to kill bacteria which is lunacy. See how you have to admit its a poison with severe side effects? At this point I would post numerous articles on how fluoride is poisonous, causes neurological harm, central nervouse system damage, bone cancer, mottled teeth in children, and comes from industrial factories but I just won't. We all know its poison, it says right on the bottle. We all know it has no positive effect of teeth, it causes Dental Fluorosis and mottled teeth. We know it a synthetic dangerous contaminant and poison by the EPA and DOT, we read their documents.
I don't need to post it again.
How do you know? How much is safe? How many glasses of water should I cook with or drink in a day so I don't exceed the limit? What happens if we drink too many glasses of water and we get a big dose? Do I have to call the poison control center for me and my family? What happens if my son or daughters eat too much toothpaste? Shouldn't all toothpaste be safe? Why is there a poison in it?
No, a poison causes bodily harm. A nutrient is known by the body and used in an efficient way for cell metabolism.
Not really. They don't crush tons of pills into powder and poor it into the water supply, do they? Regarding generic Brands of drugs, they are mostly harsh and synthetic. The non-generic brands are most of the time made with better more natural ingredients.
A poison is always harmful and there is no need to poison yourself on a daily basis. By doing that your causing massive amounts of damage to your central nervous system and becoming more suceptible to bone cancer every day.
Just because sodium fluoride is a byproduct of manufacturing doesn't mean it's automatically a scam and unhealthy. Diesel is a byproduct of gasoline manufacture and diesel is arguably more versatile as far as applications go. You also aren't taking into account any additional processing they have to do. Trust me, dumping it into drinking water is not the #1 choice of lazy waste removal, that's just ludicrous. Just because they have a convenient source for fluoride doesn't automatically mean it's no good. All of these sources you keep posting are accidents that caused harm to people, would you want to ban buildings if a few bricks fell off and injured a kid? All that says is that care needs to be taken to keep the amount right on that 1 ppm mark and not more. You clearly don't understand biology or chemistry enough to see how something labeled a poison during transportation can be used for positive uses in the right amount.
according to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hexafluorosilicic_acid
the fluoride used in drinking water comes from the production of phosphoric acid, it doesn't have jack shit to do with aluminum. Also, according to this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluoride
naturally occuring fluoride actually has HIGHER concentrations in naturally occuring water bodies than what is put into the city drinking water. Well water is several times higher. Kind of kills the "rich people have their own wells" argument.
Also, in regards to your "teh poisonz!" argument, in at least the case of sodium fluoride the danger comes from the fluoride bonding with calcium and leaving it unavailable for other uses in the body (like neurological uses). In small amounts, it's not really taking much available calcium away, only in severe overdoses would it take away so much available calcium to cause harm. Like we all keep saying, it's about balance.
You really don't understand biology or chemistry enough to get this, so like I keep saying, talk to a college professor that deals with biology about it and they will tell you the same thing we're telling you.
You're wrong, your crazy sources are wrong, you need to realize there is no "man" keeping you down and "enslaving the masses." My family isn't what I would call "rich" necessarily, but we are very well off and my dad is friends with some VERY rich people and they drink the same water, eat the same food, and do all of the same shit everyone else does. Don't blame academic shortcomings and other BS on the effing water.
You don't drink Diesel fuel............ and you defending the consumption of a synthetic industrial waste of the Fertilizer and Aluminum industry that has been labeled a poison by every single environmental and health regulatory body in the world is just insane............
Your right, it's not the #1 choice. They dump it in toothpaste, mouthwash, AND feed it to children in pill tablets at school. Little jimmy is going to think real clearly after hes done chewing down that toxic waste. Mmmmmm.
Regarding the amount of toxic waste in the water. I have to continue to ask.....How many glasses of Sodium Fluoride water is allowed per day? How much of it should I use when cooking food for my family? How much should I and other come in contact with when in the shower?
As you can see this 1 PPM is BS. The poison is toxic at any dosage. Why do you think Doctors warn mothers of preparing baby formula with Fluoride tainted water? ITS BAD....
First off...
Secondly.....Quote:
Hexafluorosilicic acid releases hydrogen fluoride when evaporated, so it has similar risks. It is corrosive and may cause fluoride poisoning; inhalation of the vapors may cause lung edema. Like hydrogen fluoride, it attacks glass and stoneware
Phosphoric Acid is corrosive. It causes cavities. ...............Great. So we get half of the toxic waste from Fertilizer and Aluminum Plants and we get the other half through the production of a known corrosive element.
Phosphoric Acid Class 8 Hazardous material. Remember that old saying "too much soda will rot your teeth?" Check the ingredients. Phosphoric acid is in it.
You know there is a difference between Calcium Fluoride and Sodium Fluoride right? You do have a grasp of Chemistry and Biology....Right? If I were you I would Re-Read the MSDS sheets.
Once again...I will repeat it one more time. It doesn't matter how much is in there AS YOU JUST SAID it still takes away calcium from the body making bones brittle after years of use. It's still a neurotoxin and it still causes harm to the internal organs that have to process this.
Unanswered Questions:
How many glasses of Sodium Fluoride filled water should someone limit themselves to a day?
How much Sodium Fluoride should a person / family cook with to remain below the limit?
How much exposure to small mist particles should a person inhale with water contaminated with Sodium Fluoride?
How do people regulate this? THEY DON'T ITS ALL BULLSHIT. People who live in a fluoride contaminated area can't possibly regulate their intake of this harmful neurotixin. Its almost impossible. It doesn't matter how little they put in the water people are still getting a super dose of it....... They are drinking it, cooking with it, bathing in it, and washing their clothes with it.

where edge learned the absolute truth on the biological and chemical effects of poisons:
The amount of fluoride in tap water is so miniscule the you will never exceed the limit and die. It is possible that they add too much, or some places add too much (different municipalities add differing amounts of fluoride, and with different sources), so that a person drinking lots and lots of water will eventually develop some health complication. If that is found to be true -- and it certainly hasn't been proven -- that's merely an argument for altering, rather than eliminating.
You will die from water poisoning before you die from fluoride poisoning. A few years ago, a woman in California died from drinking too much water in a radio contest to win a Wii. It wasn't the fluoride that killed her.Quote:
What happens if we drink too many glasses of water and we get a big dose?
There's a poison in it to kill bacteria. Duh? Why would anyone eat any amount of toothpaste? It's not meant to be edible. It is all safe -- for use on your teeth, not for swallowing, which isn't its indication. By the way, don't drink Listerine.Quote:
Do I have to call the poison control center for me and my family? What happens if my son or daughters eat too much toothpaste? Shouldn't all toothpaste be safe? Why is there a poison in it?
You obviously did not follow my suggestion to look it up. Come on, how hard is it to look up some basic health information? Potassium chloride is both a poison (used in lethal injection executions) and a nutrient (as a source of potassium, which is essential for nerve function).Quote:
No, a poison causes bodily harm. A nutrient is known by the body and used in an efficient way for cell metabolism.
That's not how they fluoridate water either.Quote:

That's not at all true. Any poison at a low enough concentration will cause no effect. This is extremely basic knowledge. In my entire life I've never heard anyone deny this concept. Even children understand it.Quote:
A poison is always harmful
There is no evidence that fluoridated tap water does this to people.Quote:
and there is no need to poison yourself on a daily basis. By doing that your causing massive amounts of damage to your central nervous system and becoming more suceptible to bone cancer every day.
