PS1 and PS2 were (and still are in the PS2's case) the runaway smash hits of their generation. how well is the ventilation? If it's freezing, you probably aren't giving it enough breathing room.

I'm sure that if were were into PSX/PS2 I's still be playing a lot on those consoles, as we (my little brother and I) pretty much play games from all our consoles fairly regularly (less so for the ones that aren't hooked up always like the NES or 2600), but I'm still fond of our N64 as GC games (and just recently got Perfect Dark), I've already explaind my differences towards the N64. ;) (got it in late 1999, so plenty of games, and a lot used at lower prices, I was 10 and my brother was 5, so yeah) Still fun though. ;)

But as for Nintendo going down the drain right after the PSX launched... even from your perspective that's off as there were still some good SNES games coming out, in particular, Yoshi's Island.
