Pinball!
Some of my latest uploads on one of my Youtube "channels". All recorded by me from real hardware. It doesn't get more accurate than that!
I couldn't choose just one selection from Dragon's Curse (aka Wonder Boy III on the SMS) since the themes are all so darned catchy, so here are four of them:
Dragon's Curse - TurboGrafx-16 - by ??? - Oceanside Theme
Dragon's Curse - TurboGrafx-16 - by ??? - Desert Theme
Dragon's Curse - TurboGrafx-16 - by ??? - Entrance Theme
Dragon's Curse - TurboGrafx-16 - by ??? - Forest Theme
Legendary Axe 2 - TurboGrafx-16 - by Hiro T. Suzuki - A very dark and brooding theme from level 4.
Midnight Resistance - Sega Genesis/Mega Drive - by Hitoshi Sakimoto - More great music from this game.
Streets of Rage - Sega Genesis/Mega Drive - by Yuzo Koshiro - Boss theme from the first Streets of Rage.
Super R-Type - SNES - by Charlie Y.K - Muffled, but good!
Vapor Trail - Sega Genesis/Mega Drive - by Hiroaki "MARO" Yoshid & Tatsuya "KIWCH" Kiuchi - The rockin' main tune.
That's it for now.
"SNES. Muffled, but good!"
QFT?
Disregard the Black Knight Sonic. The song is from SEGAGAGA.
0:47 on is epic.
I love the Pokemon Red/Blue overworld music way to much.
Dragon Slayer the overworld theme

Not my absolute favorite (not really sure about that off th etop of my head), but it's certainly one of th emore memorable ones for me, and some of the coolest Atari VCS music I've heard.
Cool vids/links so far :D
Kool Kitty89: Yeah, I love that 2600 demo. I watch it at least once a week or so. The music just amazes me. I laughed when I saw b00daW in the credits. I asked him, but he said he did the second half of the music. The first half is my fav.
Redifier: Midnight Resistance has better music on the Genesis version than the arcade. No doubt. But Vapor Trail... takes the cake. The home version music kills the arcade. It's one the most impressive Genesis sound tracks ever and one of my favorite too.
Also, I don't remember Rtype being that muffled. Wow. You should do a comparison with BSNES audio emulation (since every keeps saying how SNES audio emulation is less muffled in emulators). I know the SNES itself has some muffle-ness to it, but I still think most of it comes from composers using lower sampled instruments with higher filter interpolation (which is controllable per ADPCM block).
No love for the Neo Geo? there's a lot of good chiptunes on the Neo's game library.
King of Fighters 94-Brazil stage theme
Intro stage theme to Megaman X 3 MegaDrive style
If only Capcom showed the Genesis some love.
god-damnit. I've not played the game in a decade and I can still hum along to the tune, yet I can't remember what I had for breakfast. What's wrong with me?
Here's another couple of great tunes; Turbo OutRun had such an excellent soundtrack! Not sure if the 'real' music others have been posting count as chiptunes ;)
x-ray - rage -- http://www.eightecs.com/infinitegame...mvolctep2.html
and my roomie's chip-music: http://zabutom.x-dump.com/ - "trisynaptic loop" is pure gold.
Shamrip (Track 3) from Lotus 2: RECS (recorded through Kega and uploaded by me :))
Comic Bakery from the GameBoy version of Jurassic Park (also uploaded by me)
FBI Get On It from TimeCop for the SNES. For some reason I love this one. FUN FACT: David Cage (Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit, Omikron, Heavy Rain) made this one (and the rest of the game's music) when he used his real name: David de Gruttola
The main theme and in-game theme from the Commodore 64 of Commando, by the great Rob Hubbard. EARGASM!
And finally, both NewSan and Skyholder from MegaRace, composed by Stéphane Picq
METAL MAN!
and SILVER SURFER!
Remix tune, but still :D Love it. Style sounds like it's straight from Ys Book I & II CD game
Etrian Odyssey's score sounds a lot like 16-bit music.. No wonder since Yuzo Koshiro was behind it. I hope he does more DS music before it is eventually phased out!
Who are You? from Turbo OutRun. FUCK YEAH!
Spaceninja and Shamrip from the original Amiga version of Lotus 2 RECS, Lotus 3: The Ultimate Challenge
The Amiga definitely had the best music during the Home Computer era, but could you recommend some obscure titles that had great tracks? And why do Exotica's rips usually seem incomplete?
Hah! I got one....

SOR intro in opl2 remade goodness. I like it :D
It's not from a video game, hell I don't even know if it's chiptune. But it sounds a lot like it.
Why could they not release this in the US? Maybe it's better that they didn't. It probably would have been butchered to fit in with Robotech.
Pitfall II sounds so damn awesome.
http://blog.ntrq.net/?p=52 <- Can't link the song directly. Site has embedded player.
http://www.gorenfeld.net/lou/HuC6280A_On_Fire.mp3
It is a chiptune.
Two remixes. Info says PC 88 sound system or something or other. Anyway, sounds nice and clean :D And of course, it's Revenge of Shinobi - one of the top sound tracks on the Genesis.
Arcade version of the tune is longer than the Genesis/Mega Drive version
Last Resort (medley) on the Neo Geo AES/MVS:
