If you understood the situation, it's proof that what they know is 100% fact. What they know is that NiGHTS is not in the final retail copy of the game, and they are willing to make that bet. It makes perfect sense. When I made this thread, here on Sega-16, DiGi wasn't allowed to state how he got this information, but he has now worded things differently. Sure, maybe it wasn't an email, but I know for a fact that NiGHTS is not in this game, either. I believe DiGi 100%.Quote:

This is to show how confident they are in their sources (they have many ties with SEGA of Europe). In other words, NiGHTS actually is not in the final retail copy of the game. They wouldn't be making this bet if NiGHTS was already in the retail copy of the game. This is to bring awareness of the situation and to push for DLC. If we get ToeJam & Earl, Vectorman, and NiGHTS as DLC, I will be one happy gamer.
This game will likely be somewhere between 'Shit' and 'Mediocre' if Sega's whored out game design philosophy rings true to history.
If they coded support for proper DLC, I don't see what the fuss is about pertaining to NiGHTS being absent in playable form.
I wouldn't care if s/he was a non-playable character & showed up in the game as a referee, or some plot device in a story mode. Even a fancy menu select character.
I don't know, in my eyes Sega's still a new piece of shit company 'leeching instead of earning' survival funds off of it's acquired IP catalog & brand...and NiGHTS is highly overrated.
I'm not one to argue for the NiGHTS fanbase, but DiGi would probably use an argument like... "Two main games in the NiGHTS franchise is highly overrated?" and "Even ToeJam & Earl has more games than NiGHTS".
But ... this should have been on the disc!! Never mind 'budgets', 'licensing', 'scheduling', 'coding limitations' or anything else people with real jobs have to deal with - we're entitled to play as any random videogame character we want in the licensed-character-em-up game designed for schoolkids, and we'll pout and scream and if necessary humiliate ourselves just. to. play. as. NiGHTS just had a new game released on Wii not that long ago, NiGHTS was in Sega Superstars on Eye Toy, and Sega Superstars Tennis. He's got way more base than Alex Kidd in this day and age.

Maro 64 was absolute trash back in 96 it bore the hell out of me. NiGHTS was a helluva alot more fun than it. IDC what the industy says and how far they were up Nintendo's ass back then.
