It's ok, your name earns you a pass.
Glad to hear it worked out.

Thanks for the tip, I decided to fully clean my sega cd and lube the button it works great now. I thought it was the design of the button as i seen oem sega cd buttons on Ebay described as "The revision that doesn't get stuck" which i now think is a load of shit. I use wd-40 with a microfiber cloth to shine all my consoles/controllers/ect. Why does the rubber feet on my saturn joystick always get stuck to the table?
Probably because the oil is deteriorating the rubber.
;)
I use armor all on plastics but not all the time.
Oil based rubbers come apart with oil dudes.
Alcohol will just dry them out and end up cracking them.
Not quite figured what the full fix is there yet so......:daze:
You are welcome and yet again pleased to have aided you. I disapprove the use of WD 40 on plastics, I feel it will harm plastics in the long run but really it won't. The fact is Water Displacement 40th formula is a light kerosene based lubricant and it will do the job for a short time but it will eventually evaporate within a few weeks and why it isn't actually good to be used as a lubricant.. long term that is.
"Why does the rubber feet on my saturn joystick always get stuck to the table?" It's because of the type of rubber they used is soft, sticky (and smell like Clayola crayons) and somewhat pliable as well. I have used talcum powder as a barrier to try to get them from sticking to things but after a few days of use it comes off. Or gets absorbed into the rubber?
Well, I actually have one more thing to ask. First of all I went and smelled the rubber feet on the virtua stick and IT DOES SMELL LIKE CRAYON WTF. Few years back I got a Game Gear off amazon (For the retarded price of 60 dollars) and at the time I knew nothing about caps (or anything but vintage gaming accept Nintendo) but I was lucky the caps were good and they also appeared to be stock (weird right?). It eventually completely died then I got the caps replaced and it was still broken. Recently bought a game gear on ebay (12 DOLLARS) with bad caps and had them re-done for 15. Got home and it worked GREAT! Accept the screen is messed up. The left side is a shade darker than the right and the colors BLEED. For example When its a black screen with the text "SUNSET PARK ZONE ACT 2" The color from the text bleeds into strait vertical lines from top of the screen to bottom. During actual gameplay its very minimal but keep in mind I had the capacitors replaced VERY RECENTLY so I have no idea why this is happening. I dont mind I mean hell its a mostly working Game Gear with new caps for 30 bucks im MORE THAN HAPPY. Another thing this stop happening but just thought Id bring it up, When I used to twist the entire game gear the screen resolution would screw up. The game would get small and blue border would form around the game. Hitting the back of it/turning it off fixed this but it has not happen to me since. Again thanks for everything community/EyeDeeNo76
*Edit1: My sega cd clicks when loading some games, do i need to re-clean the laser?
I've tried twice to reply to this thread but than the electricity would drop out (for reals) and just this last time it took three hours to come back. Maybe the third times a charm? Anywho About the twelve dollar Game Gear screen, it could be a bad connection or the screen it self. The noise from the Sega CD could be a number of things. It was cleaned at one time, did you/they lubricate the rails and gears with white lithium grease or silicone grease?
No but I got some silicon geese on hand so I might get around to doing that, actually the click might just be the laser refocusing, its spindle is black does that mean its REV-B? How do I go about re-connecting the screen on the Game Gear? Most likely not interested but if theirs a safe way i'll do it!
NOW ON THE SUBJECT OF ATARI (ik this isnt the site but y not I took 2 weeks to make a acc on this sight why must I wait for one on Atari age?)
I sold the 4 switch woody today (well more like a even trade) and I got a pretty damn dirty but fully functional LIGHT SIXER. Gamemode b was loose but with some pliers I fixed it, colors where off so i re-adjusted the pot and its perfect now. 4 hours of cleaning later its spotless, tomorrow im gonna re-paint the orange line around the controls and wd-40 the shell (SORRY XD)
So whats the deal with your power? Wait a sec you live in NYC? Man I fell horrible for everyone up there my family made the smart decision and went a little bit south, everything is new here and the taxes are INSANELY LOWER and the weather down here is GREAT! Very warm but that still doesn't convince the rest of my family to get out of there :(
As much as I know I tend to say away from working on handhelds. The members of Sega-16 seem to discuss must anything related to something. I respect the Atari 2600 for it's place in video game history and part nostalgia but the fact is way back in the day the 2600 games could only keep me engaged for a short time before I would get bored of them because of limited colors, sounds and only one button also the torque that the stick put on the base of the controller I never like. I never got chance to use the orignal first release 2600 controller. So with that said I love to hear about old stuff cleaned up and brought back into specs. I'm guessing equipment failure was to blame for yesterdays power interruptions. I am in the suburbs a couple of counties away from Manhattan, what I like to think as the real NYC. And wow does it get loud outside during a power outage here with a few of neighbor's backup generators running.
I have fairly recently found a first re-lease stick at a weird pawnshop I never go to. Throughout the 4 years off all the great giant stores one of the first times I go to this weird comic book store I found one for 10 dollars broken. Got home and re-soldered 3-wires and it works but the mechanical setup is problematic. Left cuts out after being pushed the entire way (The stick has great travel) but dissembling it and playing with the springs usually fixes it. I find the Atari to be more like an arcade type of unit with games like berserk, its simple but extremely fun. As for you I strongly suggest Pitfall 2 its probably the most complex adventure game for the unit. I also like tunnel runner its a first person maze game that to me is kinda like a horror game, its not scary but those things catch me off guard sometimes. Atari is a very fun console to collect for because collecting for the console IS COMPLETELY DEAD and it reminds me of when I used to collect for the NES everything was cheep. Consoles run cheap and games (EVEN CIB) run EXTREMELY CHEAP.
I never lived in the city I lived in rockland county in a small place called suffern village it was on the border of Jersey. Meh I hated it XD
You ever go to Nintendo world of America? The snes in there is piss yellow and it frustrates me listlessly
Okay I am going move over to Atari 2600 Appreciation Thread.
