I know he said it's Japanese but the box says PAL and that's not a Japanese power adapter either. Was this a Mega Drive from another Asian region? I'm sure it's not European as they had the two red buttons right? It looks like the Japanese Mega Drive.
My speakers aren't working so I couldn't listen to the video.
But, Maybe it's a Russian/Soviet Union Mega-Drive?
In this feature from just a few weeks ago the reviewer describes an Asian style system with red cartridge slot and blue reset button. He also mentions Sonic 1 running slow, how I assume it does on PAL consoles.

I don't see anything rare about it other than is new.....It is an Asian PAL Megadrive 2....Some Asian countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore among others, use the PAL broadcasting too.....Dude just thinks is Japanese...
