Seriously again releasing these games on another platform
what I find lame is that it's just the 4 Genesis Sonics and nothing else. lazy lazy lazy lazy.
I love the idea of having all four originals in portable form (WITHOUT switching out cartridges... looking at you Nomad!), but a DS card can hold way more than those four games. Why isn't Spinball, Mean Bean Machine, and Sonic CD in there as well?
I say we all take up our pitchforks and head straight for Sega headquarters!
I know people always complain about Sonic Collections and whatnot but, I'm actually glad they finally did it on the DS. Seriously though, next March? Damn.
The reasons I'm glad are:
-I'm usually out and about, and never have time to play home consoles
-I always find myself wanting to play some sort of Genny game on the go
-I keep forgetting about the new Genesis portables, and I'm still a but unsure if I want one.
-I have a DSi, and find myself using that the most out of all my consoles or portables.
I know it's just another port, but I have high hopes.
lets face it sega isn't capable of a new decent sonic game so rehashing is a safe bet!
Agreed. This is getting BORING. The Sonic games have become some of my least favorite Genesis games now because:
1) I have played most of them to death (well, mostly the first and second)
2) It seems that's all most casual gamers remember from the Genesis era when the system had so many other fantastic games.
3) The constant worthless rereleases.
Couldn't thet just include Sonic Spinball & The SMS game ,bastards
I'm glad this is coming out, but I have to agree with 17Days on this one. The truth is that the DS uses cards that can be made to hold way more mem than that (even close or as much as a blue ray disc if they wanted to).
Not even close. I think the biggest DS cards can hold around 256 MB, while a Blu Ray disc can hold 25 GB single layer, 50 GB dual layer.
Still, that's more than enough memory to throw a ton of more Sonic goodness.
EDIT: Scratch that, I guess the biggest card used so far is 512 MB.
Until Sega does more than pack the same four re-re-re-re-re-released Sonic games on one DS cart, I don't think anyone's shoving anything anywhere
This pissy DS game does nothing to hurt the new portable Genesis systems, which can play a helluva lot more than just Sonic games. And here's a good question I think... how's the emulation? Another buggy, imperfect rush job?
I'm gonna say the same thing I've been saying OVER and OVER again:
modded PSP+PicoDrive+ROMz=all other portable options are stupid.
and you know what? Picodrive CAN play Sonic CD.
