Ehh. I love, love, love SOTN, but its one flaw is the control scheme IMO. Why did they go back to up+attack for the subweapon? The only reason that was ever how it was controlled in the first place was due to the limited NES pad. On SNES and Genesis, they wisely got rid of that and put the subweapon on its own button. SOTN uses more buttons, but it still has one unused button on the Playstation pad.Quote:

What does not get enough love around here is Dracula X for Snes, nowhere near a bad game, it's actually a really great piece of software for the Snes. The only disappointment is that it's not accurate to the pc engine version. Taken on it's own merits however, it's still great.
I'd say more tedious than confusing, definitely more for those who enjoy long RPGs and/or adventure games. (more like RPGs though) I like some games like that, but I tend to get too consumed with them and spend more time than I would like. (that and I tend to get indicisive at times with all the options with what to equip and such, I hesitate a lot with my strategic choices, so I prefer more linear RPGs and such, less so for puerer adventure games -Zork is great etc) I can manage, but I prefer not to have to. (unless I really get into the game and have plenty of free time)Quote:

The adventure game type puzzel solving is a big reason I like the Silent Hill games.

I didn't even get that far, the second I realized it was Metroid style nonsense and item collecting, I said "nope!" and that was that. Its like Cliffhanger (the movie), if only the rest of the game (movie) was as good as the first 5 minutes...Quote:

17days should really give this series another chance, as all of the titles after Super Metroid go out of their way to keep you from blundering blindly around the game with no clear objective (which actually annoys me a little bit, because I don't need my goddam hand held)
I love SM, I've played it and beat it dozens of times, and I still don't remember exactly where to go....And have yet to get the ending with samus in a bikini.
Fucking Nintendo, ya know what they do, they say, beat the game in under 3 hours with higher than 98% to get Samus in a bikini at the end, and then go stick her in a all black thick as hell monstrosity that covers every little bit of her no noes. They mine as well just have pulled her underware up over her fricken head, would have been the same crap.
Still doesn't stop me from trying to see it though:D
I wouldn't say that the graphics of SC4 are overly excellent. They have their moments, but much of the artwork and colors are very drab. I hate the orange hue in the first level, it makes my eyeballs bleed like a virgin on prom night. The stacked skulls aren't defined very well and for the longest time I had no clue what they were, other than that they shot fireballs. But other portions of the graphics are great.
The music is also great. Most people go in expecting a melody-fest. This is not the case. The music tends to be very ambient. This is one of the times where ambient music is done right. It works really well for this game, kind of giving a more spooky feel. There is a track that is nothing but forbodding strings as you approach the outside of the castle right before you go in about halfway through the game, maybe a bit further. Very nice and starts making it feel like something is coming up that I should be prepared for.
