Their big revelation is kind of underwhelming, but it might be a big deal for some.

* SUNSOFT ACQUIRES ENTIRE NIHON TELENET SOFTWARE LIBRARY
Redding, CA – December 10, 2009 – Sunsoft, a division of SUNCORPORATION (JASDAQ: 6736) , has today announced that they have completed the purchase of the entire software library of defunct Japanese game publisher Nihon Telenet. This transfer of intellectual property gives Sunsoft the ability to publish or remake over 100 Telenet titles originally published on key platforms like Nintendo Entertainment System, SEGA Genesis/SEGA CD, and PC-Engine/Turbografx, and Sony Playstation.
Nihon Telenet, also known as Nippon Telenet, who published under the Renovation brand in the USA, was a prolific developer and publisher of popular and well-crafted titles like the Valis Series, El Viento, Earnest Evans, Tenshi No Uta (Poems of the Angel), Exile, and Cosmic Fantasy series, to name only a few. One of the interesting trademarks of a Telenet game was that it was not uncommon to see characters from one title make a guest appearance in a different Telenet game or series.
Kiharu Yoshida, CEO of SUNCORPORATION said of the acquisition, “I am proud to have succeeded in creating a home for this large family of key software. We plan to carefully cultivate the great software base we have purchased with this transaction.”
Victor Ireland, President of GAIJINWORKS was instrumental in helping the deal come about and will assist Sunsoft in the implementation of a publishing plan for existing titles and development plans for those that are chosen to be remade. Ireland effused “After Telenet closed, I was sure there was a way to keep their great ideas and characters alive, and I’m extremely happy that Sunsoft has stepped into that role. There are numerous fantastic products to work with in this acquisition, and there is nothing but amazing possibilities for the Telenet IP as a whole.”
Initial plans are to quickly begin publication of the original software releases on Virtual Console systems available on the Wii and other platforms. Then new development of key titles in the library will be initiated, targeting the best and most-wanted to be remade for current consoles and services. Given that many of the Telenet series had only one of the installments released in the US, some of these Virtual Console and remade releases will be seen for the first time in Western markets.
In the coming months, the order of release for titles from this library will be announced and publication will begin, events sure to work game fans into a frothing lather. Suggestions and comments for the games to be chosen are welcome and can be made on the new Sunsoft USA message boards at www.sunsoftgames.com.
Meh. Most of those games I can play on my Genesis already. And several of them aren't even that good to begin with.
At least there won't be anymore Valis hentai porn. We should at least give Victor props for this.
@ApolloBoy, this is from the quoted post that IP first made:
"- Blaster Master VC will be updated from the original, and comes with easter eggs/surprises"
They'll manage to screw it up some how.
Telenet made some excellent Mega Drive titles but, really nothing I would like to see be remade for the current gen systems.

That sounds like a bald face lie.
I hate this lying SOB anyways. It's funny how fought tooth and nail to get MKR characters original names. Yet he had no issues with changing all the names in Silhouette Mirage. He also bought over the craptacular Shining Wisdom.
There was nothing wrong with Silhouette Mirage to begin with. No need to change character names, or game difficulty, or whatever. GameStop and EBGames and all the others would return games weather they were difficult or not. There was no reason to change anything in the game.
I've never played the Playstation Silhouette Mirage, but I have it on the Saturn. Too easy? I think not, unless the JP Playstation version was much easier than the Saturn version. I have never been able to beat it, in fact I really can't get very far to begin with, maybe 5 or 6 levels in if memory serves. I haven't played it since it was brand new because the difficulty turned me off and the game got boring.
I almost thought misremembered which game he was talking about when he gave that explanation. So I went and looked it up. Above is Vic's actual response.Quote:

But it still sounds like a stupid excuse to change difficulty.
Well, I'm still looking forward to any of the Cosmic Fantasy, Exile, or Valis games that will probably show up on VC. I never had a TG16.
I know most of you li'l wippersnappers probably don't even know what the TurboGrafx-16 is, but Vic really increased the difficulty to Exile 2 on that system. Exile 1 was very easy and the story goes that people complained about it. So when he brought over part 2, he increased the difficulty 100-fold to shut the whiners up. He didn't know that he was actually creating a new set of whiners. I can make it to the last boss... barely.
I also wonder if he tampered with the difficulty in Popful Mail. While that game is not overly difficult, the main character runs awfully close to the edge of the screen, just like in Exile 2. This is an easy way to increase difficulty since you have much less time to react.
Victor Ireland is not as great as he thinks he is.
