I had it on PC too back in the day. I set it up the same way you did. It was relaxing just hearing the thunderstorm while floating over the dip in the hill in the city course.

Yes exactly.
These settings render the game very relaxing and soothing. And I think the "3D" drops of rain are a very nice touch (the drops actually scaling and getting bigger as they approach the camera). I think this has by far the best graphics and sounds of all possible settings.
I believe the thunderstorm setting was only for the PC version, so it's too bad that Saturn-version owners couldn't also enjoy it. I don't know how much I would have liked the game without the thunderstorm setting. (I certainly hated the music, lol.)
I like Bubsy, but only on the emulator so I can use save states and so I can clearly hear his voice samples and reply to them with random expletives.
I also love Battletoads/Double Dragon, Outrunners, ESPN National Hockey Night.
People just did not get the point of the OP or ignore it completely, citing games that are far far faaaaar from being considered bad by the majority. :?
Spider-man Vs. Kingpin, Alien Storm, TNMT Hyperstone Heist?
no, just no.
My quote goes to Heavy Nova! ;)
I really like the Berenstain Bears Camping Adventure game. I thought that it was a really good platformer, with cool boss fights. I know it is kind of lame, but it is really a great game that most might not consider playing.
Spiderman/X-Men Arcade's Revenge was a game that I liked an awful lot when I was little and was frankly surprised to find it get poopooed here, but then I played it again.
Sports Talk Baseball....? That might be stretching it a little.
Fatal Rewind
- Darius II aka Sagaia
perfect port of the arcade game- Golden Axe III
everyone and their mom thinks it's bad because they played it for like five minutes on that Mega Drive collection for PS2- Super Street Fighter II
representing dozens of Capcom and Konami titles people complain about- Gynoug aka Wings of Wor
the first shmup by Masaya/NCS and quite a spectacular one- Twin Hawk, Super Fantasy Zone, Monster Lair
because they weren't released in the US- Dune II
a perfect port of a classic PC game, I wish I could stop playing it- Magical Hat
because everyone plays Decap Attack instead- Bare Knuckle III
because everyone plays Streets of Rage 3 instead- Phelios
representing a billion of excellent shmups that people never talk about
I think most people in the know consider Bare Knuckle III to be much better than Streets of Rage 3, no question about it. The difficulty is much more balanced in BKIII.
Here are two more titles I played tonight that I think are great but most would consider to be "meh".
Insector X
Arrow Flash
Both have really good music too btw.
Sparkster (RKA sequel)
Recently I’ve become addicted to Bubble and Squeak, which I recall someone describing as the “most annoying game ever.” Though I think they were referring to the Amiga edition (which is harder, and features more annoying music).
Monster Lair was totally released in the US. Here is a picture of my US copy of Monster Lair:

;)
Alien Storm
Apparently NES Star Wars : \
Even though I don't understand how anyone who finishes the game could possibly consider it less than a masterpiece of fine gaming, way ahead of it's time.
