My main setup is a CDX connected to the 32X. It's hooked up to the TV via s-video from the XMD-3 device.
Secondary setup is my model 1 Genesis hooked up to a model 2 Sega CD. I sometimes use the PBC on the Genny to play SMS games.
How well does that XMD device work for you? I've located one but it is pretty pricey. Does it really improve the video quality enough to justify tracking one down?Quote:

Hi-Def Gen with model 2 CD. I want a 32X badly to complete the system, but have a real hard time finding an affordable one with all the cables.
I use a CDX and 32x connected via composite to a 19" CRT television. I'd like to upgrade my retro set-up with a bigger SD TV with s-video in the future, but its low on my priority list right now.
Genesis, Sega CD and 32X all the way. When I get my HDG Genesis and PBC I'll have the perfect set-up. A good Genesis and all three add-ons. :)
Oh yeah, I have a Master Gear Converter for Game Gear as well, so I'll be all set for those SMS games... :D
Just a Genesis for now, but I eventually plan to get a Sega CD and a 32x.
I normally just have the Genesis and SCD hooked up, but that's because I don't have clearance for the 32X (I can't even play S3&K) unless I pull it out of the entertainment center. Also, I don't like how the system tends to get hot while using the 32X, which is why I want to find a good model 2 (one that fucking works with Knuckles Chaotix) to use as a dedicated 32X system.

Secondary Setup - Genesis 1 with Seag CD 2... Under the bed... :(

my main setup is a 32x, model 1 sega genesis, model 1 sega cd i've owned the 3 systems since the 90's, this setup is currently in storage until I make some space for it again.
my second setup is another model 1 genesis modded with a region switch, s-video, 50/60 hz switch.
Primary Setup- Genesis 2 with Sega CD2
Secondary Setup - used for games i have saved on it Model 1 HD with Sega CD1
32x is always on standby never connected until needed.
Primary System: Model 2 Genesis + Model 2 CD + 32X
Secondary System: CDX + 32X
Tertiary System: Nomad
I also have a RetroGen and GenMobile. They're not "real" SEGA equipment, so I don't include them any more than I include my PSP + PicoDrive.
