I have a 4in1 AR cart for playing JPN titles in my stock US Saturns.
I'm thinking on picking up Shining Wisdom in the near future and might opt for the European English version that wasn't raped by Victor Ireland's goon squad at Working Designs.
If I grab that version, will it work in with the AR? Or do I need to throw a region switch in it anyway?
Yeah, it'll work... so as long as it's not PAL optimized, in that case you might have problems.
EDIT: Are you SURE the PAL version has a different translation? I know the PAL version of Sega Ages for the Saturn was the same as the US one btw...

Working Designs pissed me off as a fan or RPGs and Writing in general. :lol:
Albert Odyssey was horrendous. The feedback for Shining Wisdom is worse. I'll probably end up with both versions; but would still like to know for sure if I need to throw effort into getting the European version to run.
Oh, OK. I just wanted to make sure... since I almost imported the PAL edition of Sega Ages for the Saturn LOL.
But so as long as it's not PAL optimized, it'll run fine. I used to know a guy who was HUGE on Saturn and he had most all of the PAL only games and he had no issues with non-optimized games with a PAR 4-1.
I've always wanted to get the PAL Saturn version of WipEout 2097, but I've never found out if it plays all right on a US system (with import cart of course).
