I can't believe I forgot to mention Beyond Good and Evil. Not a PS2 exclusive, but a game that should not be missed.

It arrived today! I got the slim version and my gosh, it's tiny! I think if I went up a few pants sizes I could fit it in my pocket.
If you can find it, SMT Nocturne isn't just the best RPG on the system, it's one of the best ever made.
It's kind of rare though. Persona 3 & 4 are acceptable alternatives, or either of the Devil Summoner games.
Digital Devil Saga is great too, but also rare.
Is there any difference between Persona 3 and Persona 3:FES? I keep seeing the latter at a local Gamestop, it's $10 and I'm wondering if that's the one I should get or not.

Hmm. I do love the PS2 (worked up a love-hate relationship with it at first, since it killed my beloved Dreamcast). Here's my own list of 'must-haves' (I'm sure many will repeat with others' titles):
Devil May Cry 1
Devil May Cry 2
Devil May Cry 3
Onimusha 1
Onimusha 2
Onimusha 3
Dynasty Warriors (All of them)
Metal Gear Solid 2
Metal Gear Solid 3
Kingdom Hearts
God of War
God of War 2
Viewtiful Joe
Viewtiful Joe 2
Alien Hominid
The Lord of the Rings (all of them, although the Fellowship was done pre-Peter Jackson style, but it's still awesome)
Prince of Persia - The Sands of Time
ICO
Shadow of the Colossus
SNK Classics
Jack N Daxter (all of them)
Ratchet N Clank (all of them)
Sly Cooper (all of them)
...that was exhausting. I can't think of anything else right now...
I will just give you a top ten of my faves on the system (in no particular order)
01. Resident Evil 4
02. SSX 3 (the absolute best snowboarding game ever made)
03. Red Faction 2 (superb FPS game for 4-player deathmatching)
04. Soul Calibur 2
05. The SOCOM series (be sure to pick up a mic)
06. Disgaea (if you like srpgs, this could possibly eat hundreds of hours of your life on itīs own)
07. The Suikoden series (my favorite RPG series on the system)
08. The Persona series (my 2nd favorite RPG series on the system)
09. The Fatal Frame series (surivival horror series that will genuinely creep the hell out of you)
10. Psychonauts (my favorite platformer on the system)
PS2 exclusive (not counting psp) great games:
Everblue 2
King's Field: The Ancient City
Shadow Tower Abyss (import)
Samurai Shodown Anthology
World Heroes Anthology
Digital Devil Saga 1-2 (these and Nocturne are waaaay better than Persona 3-4)
Taito Legends 1-2 (awesome value)
and of course, all the great PSX games
From my experiences, you cant save ps1 games on a ps2 memory card, so make sure you keep them! I learned that the hard way after buying Ape Escape
Do you have an Xbox, Gamecube, Dreamcast, or Wii? Almost no multiplatform game is worth it on PS2 if you have the alternative available.
