Does anyone actually own the version that has Thriller on the 3rd level?
I would pay a reasonable price for a repro Moonwalker with Thriller in it.
Ah, just found this:

At first I thought it didn't exist because I've owned a few copies and they've never had Thriller.
I'm hoping to get lucky.
Got a cart for $35 off of eBay.
I'm going to do the "sell it for more, so I can try again" trick until I find one with Thriller.
Then I'll have to buy one with the box and book.
IMHO 1 out of 10 copies will have Thriller.
My Japanese Moonwalker has no Thriller in it
What track does it play if not Thriller ? and are there other places that Thriller can be heard if not in that graveyard level ? (soundtest, etc?)
Another Part of Me I believe.
I never got to level three in my copy, as I got pissed off with level two. :(
I have it on my Japanese copy. Definitely not worth it to seek out a copy with Thriller in it. It sounds like a waste of time and money to me.
...but it's Mike&Sega together at their finest!
He's still black in the game and everything.
yeah, totally not worth it, I find the rev 00 of Revenge of Shinobi more worthwhile, but still not worth more than like $10 considering how common the game is. I mean, #1 HELLO, ROMZ! #2 Thriller comprises like 4 seconds of the entire game. Maybe if the whole graveyard level played thriller it would be worth it.
what does the sound test area say the song is?
Copied and posted this from one of my other posts and added info too:Quote:

Most copies of REV00 have Thriller in levels 3-1, 3-2, 3-3, and 5-3 which is activated by holding down the A button until Michael starts dancing (Also known as the Dance Magic) and around a 8 second clip of Thriller starts playing.
All copies of REV01 have Thriller omitted and replaced with the level song Another Part Of Me
The REV00 copies are the first runs and aside from the Thriller exerts is 100% identical to the REV01 copies (Cart, Instruction Manual, and Box) similar to the game Revenge of Shinobi (I believe there are 5 different versions of that game)
About the Japanese cart (please note that this is my belief I may be wrong here) I believe that around 75% of the REV00 carts are actually the Japanese release. That is why if you are looking for a REV00 most people say try to find a Japanese cart because there is a higher probability of getting REV00 instead of REV01
Also, Thriller is not in the Sound Test, the graveyard scenes and level 5-3 are the only places I know of where Thriller plays (I don't know why Thriller is not in the sound test of the REV00 carts)
I do agree partially about if the copy played the entire version of Thriller, but everyone likes different things. To myself Another Part Of Me does sound alright as the level song, but it just doesn't feel right seeing part of the Thriller dance done to Another Part Of Me so it is worth it to me to find a REV00 copy. Also there are four 8 second clips of Thriller in the game.
