"Final Fight 2" (SNES) box art rips off of SoR1 & SoR2's box art!!! (Pics)
I'd known about this for quite awhile now, but figured that nobody was interested or eagle-eyed enough to pick up on it.
Its common knowledge that there exist many parallels between the "Final Fight" and "Streets of Rage" series, which makes sense seeing as the latter was inspired by the former. This however, takes it to a whole 'nother level. Someone at Capcom USA must've had quite a sense of humor.
First-off, the classic-yet-inaccurate SoR1 & 2 box arts:

You might need to d/l the pics to your PC and zoom in on them to note the following:
- The person popping up out of a manhole, right under the masked guy being kicked by (an inaccurately drawn) Blaze in the SoR1 box art pops up in the FF2 box art as well, right under Haggar's left armpit. Damn near drawn exactly as in the SoR box art.
- The person popping up out of the top-floor window of a building, just above Blaze's head in the SoR1 box art, was also copypasta'd for FF2's box art. He's just above Haggar's head.
- The thug being clobbered by Axel in the SoR2 box art makes a random cameo in the far background, right under the tall thug being uppercutted by Carlos (the guy clad in blue). He's drawn simpler and slightly different, but otherwise is in the exact same "GUAAAAAAH!" position (knife in hand and all) as the SoR2 thug.
- Haggar drop-kicking the thug and the lady in the far back (Maki, even though it barely if at all looks like the in-game character) jump-kicking the thug are obviously inspired, yet not directly ripped-off, from Axel & Blaze in the SoR1 box art. Not just that, but the overall backdrop of the FF2 box art is inspired by the SoR1 art, just less chaotic.
For those of you who are FF fans, you might also notice the "WTF" cameos by Thrasher/Damnd (first FF1 stage boss) and what appears to be a bat-wielding Cody right under the "Final Fight 2" logo. Far in the background, behind the copypasta'd SoR2 box art thug, the red/orange-clad guy might be, well, Guy.
Funny stuff. As for the game itself, FF2 is pretty mediocre. Better than SNES FF1, but worse than coin-op FF1 and FF3.
