Today's Goodwill Shopping Trip

Well I started working at a new location for the same company, which is 30min away from the other location (they provide transportation and gas)... But this gives me access to a new Goodwill and a new Thrift store!

Took a long lunch today, grabbed a quick bite and thought about the Goodwill...

Took a little short trip over there and found a few interesting items...

Found Tony Hawk RIDE for Wii... for $89 (who donated THIS already?!)

Found original X-Box with 4 Controllers - $100 (uuhh... maybe $50!)

Found Genesis Model 1 (scratched to hell, no price tag)

Found Psone (the small model) Untested with power and RF-video, no controller - Good condition! $4.99!!!!

I already have a Psone... but couldn't pass it up for $5!!!!

My girlfriend doesn't understand... Oh well!!!

I picked up a PSX with hook-ups and controller for $5 at a flea market not too long ago, the system doesn't go for more than $15 tops though, it's dirt common and near worthless.

I've had decent luck at Good Will. About 4 times a years someone unloads there Sega Saturn collection, prices range from $4.99 - $9.99. I've also had decent luck with Genesis/SNES games, usually $4.99. You have to check once a week, and usually there is nothing, but once and a while there is a stock pile of stuff. I got a Sega Saturn a few months back for $11.99. It didn't work, but a few twists on the laser adjuster and it's as good as new.

I checked out a local Southern Thrift and I was appalled at some of the prices. 26.99 for some use Rocawear jeans. 49.99 for a PSx with the box and 2 controllers. UGH

Some of the GW's think video game stuff is worth it's weght in gold (like the PSx Da Shocker found) and the clothes, too the Rocawear jeans. Too bad. The ones around here are just like that. I hardly ever visit.

The ones around here are OK, but $15-20 for a PSX (or PSone) isn't that great, however it's kind of an across the board thing. They has a couple N64s for $15 (one with the expansion pak 2 controllers each, both with power supplies, only 1 av cable), and a couple gamecubes for a bit more, one was great and near complete, the other was kind of messed up. (both had the digital out though) And of course the SNES and Model 1 pre-tmss Genesis I picked up for $15 each.
Last saturday, there was a model 2 (looked like one of the crappy models -full length motherboard) for $16 with 2 3-button controllers (one with exposed wires where the cable meets the controller), the power afaptor, and an RF box. They'd apparently gotten a bunch of games with it too, mostly boxed, and most re-releases, and a bit precier than usual. ($5 each for the boxed ones, most of which were average games)

I'm always finding Nintendo 64's and Playstations at mine, Value Village tends to have good prices, but Goodwill charges way too much. $25 for a used Playstation with no controllers or cables? No thank you.

All those $15 ones had hookups and controllers (well, power cables at least, and that one PSX was the early model with RCA jacks on the back anyway).

I will say this though I found a brand new in retail plastic MS Frontpage 2002 for 12.99 2 years ago so i put it on ebay and got 139.00 for it.

Yeah man I mean I did use my ex account to up the price but eh it was brand new and sealed.

I bought a pile of SNES games off eBay from Seattle Goodwill. I got 9 copies of Super Mario World which worked out to be $9AU. These are to sell with my modified SNES's. The reason why I got them from America is because SNES games are STUPIDLY priced in Australia. Super Mario World (cart only) goes between $15-30+ (on ebay) and around the $25-40 in the old retro gaming shops (cart only). I shit you not. There are also other games in the bundle I got, but they were the main ones I was after. Seriously it is cheaper for me to buy a SNES mouse with Mario paint and have it shipped here, than it is to buy one here. The last SNES mouse's and Paints I got (a pair from same seller) worked out to be $25 each shipped. Over here expect to pay $35+ each, unless you fluke it. I shit you not.
