Retro Gamer is pretty darn good, if you can abide all the European PC talk. There's a great article this month on the Neo Geo Pocket Color, as well as the history of Technos. If you haven't read the mag before, this is a great time to jump on.
They carry Retro Gamer at the Border's by my house. I'll be sure to pick up the new one when I'm there next.
Does that game feature "ray traced graphics" like Lunacy?Originally Posted by Drixxel

Is this that polygon Chase HQ update that Taito put out during the PS1's early years? How is it? I've never read any reviews on this game and I've always wanted to add it to my collection.Originally Posted by Drixxel
No sir, and neither does it feature "60 Frames per Second of Intense Gameplay" as in comtemporaries like "Crime Killer", although I still managed to be "spoiled by the speed." Insert any other lame tech jargon promotion between those quotes for similar effect.Originally Posted by j_factor
...well actually, if we're talking serious like, there is a pretty fancy reflection of the stage's surroundings on the rear window of your vehicle in Ray Tracers, so in fact rays have to have been traced, although they were not publicized as such. How tragic for them.
This is indeed that game, although it had a '97 release.. not exactly the early years. Allow me to give it the ol' description.Originally Posted by JFLY
The game retains the same "progress bar" layout for judging how far you are from the boss, but the stages themselves are considerably more complex than any you'd find in Chase HQ, with jumps, sharp turns, and an abundance of things that need destroying en route to ol' bossy. You have a choice of four cars with your pretty standard mix of attributes (the well-rounded one, the fast at the expense of acceleration and handling one, the one superb at accelerating and handling at the expense of top speed, and the brick), and two game modes.. chase, and time attack. The game controls fairly well, although I'd describe steering as being a little stiff.
Anyways, I'm digging the game. It's really rather short, but very fun. If you enjoy the mechanics of Chase HQ, you'll enjoy this one, guaranteed.
Yup, I'm going to do it. I'm to going buy me a copy of the game this week. One more thing, does it have analogue support for the dual shock.Originally Posted by Drixxel

Hope you enjoy the game.
