Magician Lord. A bit ridiculous in the difficulty. I guess I'll have to get a Universal BIOS installed so I may play the arcade version which has somewhat reasonable difficulty.

A very wise decision on the Universal BIOS. About Magician Lord, how far can you get on one credit?

I've merged all the haul threads into one, so we'll just post all our latest buys in here from now on.

Level 5. I can't get past that level at all on the AES version (even with infinite continues) because it is a bloody maze that keeps looping. Plus all those damn frogmen and floating fish. One time there were so many floating mech fishes on the screen that it started flickering. Flicker on the Neo Geo! Ha! Also if you wast too much time in a level, a weird invincible creature comes floating down to claim you. Again changes to hell. AGAIN! They REALLY don't want you beating this game.

Got Fatal Fury 2 for the Neo Geo. It sucks. Crapfest on a stick. Thank god it was only $16 brand new (Japanese version). Seriously, the TurboGrafx-CD version is FAR better. Not in graphics (which are shitty even on the Neo), but in gameplay. The sound on the Neo version sucks really bad. Earlier Neo games had much better sound. I think that perhaps all Neo Geo fighting games suck... when played on the Neo. I am really beginning to regret my purchase of a Neo Geo system. it sucks! It is not as well designed as the Genesis (ever open one up?).

So shouldn't the word "monthly" be removed from the topic title?

I just won my two most wanted European Dreamcast imports off eBay. The first, Evil Twin, went for a measely £10.49 after shipping, and that's for a sealed copy. The second is Rez, which I paid a whopping $90 for after shipping, but it's also a sealed copy. UK DC Rez unopened has got to be pretty damn rare.

I dunno why you just didn't save some coin and get the Japanese version? It's the same game, and I think the entire game is in English too.

I never did see why the PAL version was in so much demand in the first place.
The smell of scorched oil hangs in the air as a premonition of danger, while the engine gloriously shouts its war cry...

Throughout history, suspicion has always bred conflict. The real conflict, though, resides in people's hearts. This conflict has just begun.

Because of the nasty-looking blue box. Who could resist? You really should have resisted Evil Twin, though. I think I played about 2 or 3 minutes of it before I was forced to turn it off due to excessive projectile vomiting by myself.

Wasn't REZ released in the US?

Really? I love Fatal Fury 2/Special on the Neo Geo. It's one of my favorites in the series. Though it's a little dated, the stages and characters have that great SF2 feel, a feel most SF2 clones lacked in those days. Is getting use to the control stick part of the problem? It took me a while to get reacquainted with the control stick, especially after using a control pad for so long on fighters. But now, I can't play any 2D/3D fighting game without a control stick (Neo Geo or PS2).

I checked out a charity shop nearby on a food shopping run and happened upon Powermonger for the Megadrive for just £1! The woman only seemed to want to make me pay 60p, but I decided to give her the full £1. I mean, it's only £1 and it is £1 more that the charity get.

So I did my good deed for the day I got a megadrive game to boot.
