Mega Turrican complete Metroid rip-off? Nah, its less adventure, more run'n'gun.

    I've bought a 32X and Space Harrier.

Many Metroid fans will claim Turrican is the closest thing you can get to Metroid other than the Castlevania games but I really don't see it. It's more like a Contra with a little bit more platforming and no one hit kills.

The original Turrican is probably about as old as Metroid anyway.

Mega Turrican is god. I got it recently, and it's great game. It is a bit hard to find, but pretty cheap otherwise.

Today I picked up at a local game store:

Super Mario Bros. 2 - NES - My favorite NES Mario game BY FAR.
Hogan's Alley - NES - I wanted another light gun game besides Duck Hunt and I like this one.
Sega 6-button controller - GENESIS - Now I have two REAL Sega 6-button controllers. Grey start button. No turbo or Slowmotion switches. The REAL thing. Not the piece of crap that was included with the Genesis 3. Not Majesco. Sega. The best.

I've had one of the Majesco pads (well it was orig. an interact pad, then it was licensed to majesco) for 10 years now, and it was my most used Genesis pad for years and it worked great, and I think it still does. I might have to lug it out.

I will say the wired offfical pads are the best Genesis pads. I can't get the mode button trick working with Forgotten Worlds when I use the Remote Arcade System. I hold the mode button down when I start the system, but it doesn't work with these pads. I'll have to test with my wired pads. Hmm....

I originally had one of those Interact pads that eventually became the Majesco pads at the D-Pad started acting up on me and I couldn't get it working right.

Right now I'm using the same thing only the Sega one by Majesco. I'd like to get the original Sega one but the only one I found was broken.

Ghostbusters arrived in the mail today. What a god damn great game that is! Memories came flooding back. I don't know why I got rid of that one.

Ghostbusters does indeed rock. I really wish they had done a sequel.

Just won Magical Taruruto Kun (complete) for the Mega Drive off of Ebay. I remember renting this a long long time ago at a local mom and pop video store that also dabbled in import games. The Bonk's Adventure like graphics and the numerous voice samples from the anime made this a great platform game for the Mega Drive.

It badly needed a sequel, the lack of Winston was upsetting.

    Traded:
    Raycrisis
    Rival Schools
    Koludeka

    On the way:
    Three Dirty Dwarves
    Astal
    Virtua On
    Tetris Plus
    Dark Legend
Street Fighter Alpha 2 (slightly roughed up manual)

I haven't played the PSX games in a long, long time and I got them so cheap (and in mint condition years ago) so it is a fair trade for me.

I love this game to death! Probably some of the best two player action on the Neo Geo. You definitely need a Uni-Bio to get to the end of this one. I've never understood why SNK never made a sequel to this great game.
