    Default Arcade Power Stick II

Anyone have one of these? The local used game store has one for $20 and I'm tempted to buy one. Any pros and cons to it?

    That stick looks magnificent!

How does it compare to the Arcade Power Stick I?

So I guess it's fair to say $20 isn't too much to pay for this. I'll be picking one up this week.

It is a nice stick, but not quite as well built and solid as its 3-button predecessor. Still, definitely worth having. $20 might be a bit much, though. But if you don't mind dropping the $20, go for it.

I wouldn't be able to justify the $20 if I had a 6 button controller. Something about that extra row of buttons and the fact that I can drive 10 minutes and have it instead of waiting close to a week on eBay.

Judging from the red buttons, is this the Euro version? I've got the US equivalent, picked it up for about $5.00 at a flea market many years ago, and although I prefer playing on a game pad in general, this stick is REALLY nice! Keep in mind I'm grading this thing from a console gamer's point of view, and not from a die-hard arcade gamer's, but it feels fairly sturdy, has a good button layout, and has adjustable turbo controls, so I say go for it.

You say you are in Rochester... Game Craze I take it? They have gone to shit in Syracuse.

That is the European one... same as the US one. AWESOME stick... buy it!

I have one of those sticks but I don't use it these days since i don't have a desk or table to rest it on - kinda essential for that I think. In fact it was so underused I had to take it apart last year coz all the buttons stuck due to a colossal amount of dust and grime that built up on/in it

whether or not it's good depends on how big of an elitest wiener you are. If you're the kind of person that ends any sentence about an arcade stick with "....as long as you change out the buttons and stick for Sanwa or Seimitsu." you probably won't like it. At the same time, it's probably the best non-microswitch stick I've ever used. I got mine for like $8 a couple years back and I don't regret it. The buttons almost feel like real arcade buttons and the stick has a much better feel than most equivalently priced sticks for other systems. I say go for it if you want the somewhat arcade feel on your Genesis.

I think TmEE mentioned something about a microswitched joystick version sold only in Japan, anyone know if controllers differ any from region to region in terms of compatibility?

That's the first model, not this one. It's pretty good, though I find pulling off moves with a d-pad to be much easier. Does give the games a good arcade-ish feel.
