I think that people occasionally tend to go somewhat overboard with criticising him at times (for making money and the like), but largely they probably aren't jealous - that's a bit of a cop-out criticism to me. Mind you, the most vocal of his critics come off like they are - guys like the Archfiend, Asalieri or that hobo dude who just go on and on about the AVGN in their videos constantly and obsessively (seriously, GO OUTSIDE). As far as his reviewing goes, his videos are fine enough these days - there hasn't been much in the way of unfunny skits or anything. He's not the best Internet critic, but he's not a bad one. (Translation: I feel thoroughly unclean after watching most Internet critic videos, but not his!)

I just scanned Wiki's episode list out of curiosity, and his next review is apparently Sonic 3 & Knuckles. TO ARMS.

I doubt it's true. One of his fans probably edited that in.

But I'd be up for a S3K episode.

I also watch the ben heck show, and sometimes smosh. I love webshows I stopped watching tv years ago. Also now you've got my curious, what games have you made or are you making?

If that's how you really feel, then maybe you outta stop watching the AVGN. I highly doubt he could make better games than all the ones he's criticizing. I'd like to see him make something better than Ninja Gaiden.:/
    That's a good point. But he's entertaining so....smeh.

I can't even finish watching most review videos because they're so terrible. As far as I'm concerned you can make a video about anything and as long as it's entertaining enough I'll watch it.

That was boring. It might have been nice and nostalgic for James and Mike to talk about what the shapes of the courses made them think of, but for me it was like watching paint dry. An episode that doesn't really work unless you have a personal investment in the game IMHO.

Then you, my friend, don't watch a lot of comedy or watch anything raunchy. BTW, why did you delete your videos?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's curious to know how not liking AVGN = not watching anything raunchy...

Actually, I probably am the only one and everyone else simply knows better.

I don't like AVGN for the humor (which is sophomoric) or the skits (which are b-grade), I like the show for the history and presentation. Even if he gets some facts here and there wrong, or I disagree with his analysis (the Sega CD episode is all sorts of wrong, for example), it's aesthetically pleasing and presented in an enjoyable way. My favorite episodes are like the Nintendo Power episode, or the Pong console episode, or the atari porn episode... those kinds, where it's more digging into the obscure or nostalgic.

Conversely, the Nintendo Championship cart episode and the ROB episode and Bugs Bunny episodes are all my least favorites, for the same reasons.
    A retarded Sonic.

To each his own, dudes! I think the above discussion about what we all find intriguing/boring about the AVGN vids is interesting as all hell.

The jamesnintendonerd and cinemassacre Youtube channels are currently banned due to "repeated or severe violations of our Terms of Service."

This is NOT cool. Love him or hate him, this is not something that should be happening. As someone who has his own Youtube show, it makes me very worried. I really hope he can get this fixed. I wouldn't wish this on anyone as it is a large chunk (if not most) of his income.

Wow, it's still down. This is very odd, and I hope it gets sorted out soon!
