I think it was a DMCA takedown notice by some random entity (perhaps a game company, perhaps someone posing as a game company, etc). Flagging videos does not have this same effect. When they get a DMCA request, they HAVE to take the channel or video down immediately. Then it's up to the "violator" to prove his case. It's a horrible law with a "guilty until proven innocent" mentality. It's very unAmerican and unconstitutional yet it's a law we have. Glad to see he got the jamesnintendonerd channel back up, but as of right now the cinemassacre channel is still down. He calls the jamesnintendonerd channel "Cinemassacre" anyway so the cinemassacre channel probably doesn't matter a whole lot.

I really don't see how it could have been a mistake. "Oops we deleted the wrong two channels. Both of them happen to be run by the same guy's friend Mike. Silly us. Sorry for the mistake!" This is not a case of ContentID. That works completely differently.

If it's possible for anyone to pose as anything and flag any video with copyright claims and have that video/channel taken down, then youtube needs to take a good look at itself and fix this broken system. They won't though. Whatever happened to someone buying a game, movie, or song and just using it as they see fit? They paid for it, it's theirs. But no, you have to use it on the IP holders' terms.

So wait. Someone could possibly pose as a company and get your channel deleted? That's a shocker if that were to happen. I'm surprised no one has really done that with the game channels.

Or somebody could BE a company. They could be their own indie game or video outfit. Or they could be some useless employee working at, say Nintendo and then somehow filing through Nintendo. Wihout knowing the real reasons and specifics, this is all guessing, of course.

Some people get their own original content blocked. For example, you create a video. Your video plays on the news. News now has your original content automatically blocked since it's the same content they copyrighted as part of their newscast. This happens a lot with NBC. There was a clip showed on Jay Leno that got the original creator banned. Jay's show didn't even ask for permission to use the clip. That made a lot of waves but I doubt it resulted in any changes. It's quite ridiculous.

Well, there are a bunch of haters. Archfiend, WrestlingJesus, MrWeenieProductions are the main ones that complain about the Cinemassacre and many others and still do videos of the same person. There's others that have whined and moaned about him in the past year or so. Pretty much for any ranter, if it's a popular YouTube name, they'll get big attention and views and possibly money if they have the YouTube Partner group. Fans will get butthurt and then the uploaders basically harass and insult people. Nothing good ever comes out of these "rant" videos.

In the last while the Nerd has begged for his fans to fund his movie, Mike uploaded some really terrible videos to the point where they were taken down, and the Nerd begging for a shitty, already available for free, Cheetahmen game to be released. That's some pretty nasty shit, and he deserves to be called out and criticized for it.

And nothing comes out of those rant videos? What do you want to censor those people from giving their opinion about the Nerd? The Nerd is not a perfect god as you clearly believe and these rant videos are a snap back to reality.

I hate it when people just assume he's perfect, and are completely unable to listen to logic or reason. It's so easy to just say that someone is jealous, low-life, or they should make something better if they criticize the Nerd. It doesn't argue your case anymore and it makes you look like a douche bag fanboy.



On the topic of his channels being down, this has happened before. I remember it also happened to either the GameTrailers channel or ScrewAttack channel too. It was an accident back then, and as odd as it sounds, it was probably an accident this time. Youtube does not like taking partner channels down because they generate money, that's why the JamesNintendoNerd channel took priority to get back up. The CineMassacre Channel was not partnered (last time I checked) so it may be some to get back up. I doubt it truly was a copyright claim, at this point.

I don't know a lot about MrWeenieProductions (I see that he's the guy who looks scarily like the late, great Phil Lynott out of Thin Lizzy), but...god, theArchfiend? All the time, and the only real reason they do it is to make a bit of cash from their YT Partnerships by hanging like a tagnut off of whatever's popular. Yeah sorry that post sounded a little harsh, but I hate the how some people are just oblivious. MrWeenieProductions was one of the guys who bought that Cheetahmen game before the kickstarter project. All he really did was call it out as an awful game and that James should not be endorsing it. He seemed pretty harmless to me. I've also seen TheArchFiend before on multiple occasions and he is an interesting kind of person. He's always there when there's YouTube drama and he's not afraid to call it what it is. I have no problem with that. Several years ago he was making videos about how the Irate Gamer was a douche and a rip-off, and the AVGN people loved it. Now that it's the AVGN being talked about, they can't stand it. I know some of the AVGN people actually went on one of his videos and would thumbs down every comment that was negative about the AVGN, and thumbs up every positive comment about him. It just goes to show you how awful some Nerd fans are. I’ve never heard of WrestlingJesus.

I dislike a lot of the projects on Kickstarter. Now I don't dislike donating money, hell I've donated to my local Animal Shelter before. Finding animals a loving home is not easy. I personally think that if people want to donate money, they should find an actual charity. Helping some guy make a movie is not a charity. That's my opinion anyway.

I just want to say that I don't hate the AVGN. I think just about everything he uploaded 2010 and before is some of the most entertaining stuff on the internet, and his channel is, or was the most entertaining channel on YouTube. It's the extreme decline in quality and those few things I've mentioned earlier that just disappoint me. I guess I still watch because I want to see him become entertaining again.

Ghosts n' Goblins was decent though.

How can you hate kickstarter? It's the only way for small/indie developers to get the funding to make their games. It's one of the best things to happen to the industry in a long time. Without it, you'd be seeing even less variety. Big companies are only going to keep making CoD clones and Madden. Do you not want to see Peir Solar HD on Xbox Live and Dreamcast?

The other way is to pander to the ideals of whatever big fat publisher happens to take notice of your company and/or project, but that seldom happens. Crowd funding means you still retain creative control of your project, which benefits customers in the end.
