Questions about Breath of Fire 1+2 on GBA

Since you guys mentioned the GBA FFs had sometimes better translations, mind telling me if the BoF translations on the GBA versions of BoF are improved? I never got to play either, and am looking forward to it, but see that there are some retranslations on the internet of the SNES versions.

Neither of the GBA releases had retranslations, unfortunately.

And indeed, there is a retranslation of SNES Breath of Fire 2 available on the internet (both in English and German), but not one for the first Breath of Fire.

Yeah the GBA versions of the game are more or less identical, content-wise, to the SNES ones. Breath of Fire & Breath of Fire II were good in their day but personally I think they've aged kinda poorly. BoF II is alright I guess but I'm not really a huge fan, but BoF is so grindy! And the story just isn't that interesting in either game.

Personally, the only game in the series that I consider to be great is Breath of Fire III for the PSX and the PSP now too I guess. That game has an awesome Dragon system, all the characters are really interesting, the graphics are great, the locales you visit are all really cool, and the game has an ambitious and pretty epic storyline. It's one of my favorite RPGs on the Playstation, probably in my top 5. Really good game, that.

I haven't played Dragon Quarter yet actually, and I've heard good things about that. Next time I have some spare cash I'll probably pick that up at Gamestop.
