Default Jerk-off on craigslist, please read on

You all know me pretty well, and I like to think I'm a pretty active part of the gaming community. Well, check this out:

    http://elpaso.en.craigslist.org/vgm/1595707298.html
    http://elpaso.en.craigslist.org/clo/1595702142.html

those are ads from a competitor that I seem to have, and though the t-shirts were not .99 cents, they were cheaper than I paid-- that's capitalism.

Seems that whomever it is posting those ads against me (not really sure it's a competitor, but he *is* a jerk-off) really has it in for me and can't stand my ads that are real.

I ask that if you would, flag those two ads as prohibited since he is giving an incorrect phone number along with false information.

Thanks guys, any help on this is appreciated. I do this gaming shop stuff for my own love of gaming, and have a store because I want to spread the love of it.

    Nathan

$15 isn't bad for a t-shirt. I wouldn't worry about it, it'll blow over probably when he gets distracted with someone else.

On a side note this topic inadvertently has a HILARIOUS title.

Normally I wouldn't be worrying about it too much, but he's chasing people away from the store, and that's not something I want.

If it's who I think it is, he's really got it in for me, and what I mean is he HATES me because he's damaged-- a total whack-job, on meds, has a history of violence and is totally unstable.

I might seem like some guy wanting to make money from the gaming scene, but I fix computers for money, and the gaming is for fun. Not really caring if I make anything on that end or not.

Did you flag those ads? If not, please do!

Explain to me how he's wronging you here. I see a guy selling tshirts he got for a buck and selling them for $14 profit. You see a guy trying to put you out of business and you want to take him down because he put down a wrong phone number or something. Maybe I'm an idiot or I'm just unfamiliar with CL, but I can't figure out what's going on here.

    yeah, I'm not clear either.

In a related matter, who the hell brags about picking up shirts for $1 and then goes "yeah, I'll sell them to you at a 1400% profit! support my beer/porn/debauchery fund!" Last time I checked, retailers were supposed to keep the wholesale price a secret.

ohhh, so in other words, he's disclosing to everyone that NathanAllan is selling them for a 1400% profit. Yeah, I can see that being a dick move.

Right, but of course I don't get them for that much (t-shirts that are less than a dollar suck due to quality), and if people think that is what's happening and I'm selling very pricey crap they won't come in. If that were a little bit true, people would think to go to another place instead, discover that there's no such sale and have only my name to attach to it.

Yes, I'm selling these in my shop, but they're not on sale for 99 cents. Not that I'm aware of, anyway. It's also against CL rules to impersonate and hand out false info or another's personal info, like my celphone number.

He really hates me, though; he's telling people that I steal parts from their computers when they get worked on, that the shop is closed, and that I'm getting a divorce. None of that is true and I've been told that he gets to yelling and carrying on whenever he talks about it.

Which is kind of slick, since I do take out bad harddrives, cd/dvd drives and normally I don't give them back to the customer, they don't want them.

One story, one of my regulars goes in there, buys a GenMobile; it won't read carts, so it's defective. Person goes back, instead of an exchange, he offers to repair it (he doesn't know how to fix an unfolded paper sack to make it folded again[also he's not an authorised reseller from Hyperkin]), gets it back some time later and it won't turn on, so he offers to repair it *again* but he can't do it for free, and asks for payment; the guy gives him a broken fat PSP for partial credit, it still doesn't work after another fixing trip, then he tells the person sorry, since it's a trade and there was no receipt he can't do anything for him. True story.

That's truly a bad situation, the way you explained it....Although, did that guy actually posted your personal cell # on CL?....Was this person a close friend of yours, ex-employee, relative, etc?....It seems that there's more to the history...Flagged the CL post anyway...Shitty deal..

There's a bit more; he was a friend of mine once and he worked his oen shop (newer games stuff and different repairs than mine) out of my shop. He's an Iraq war veteran, is on many meds for pain and psyche, more power to him for being a hero but this doesn't excuse him from making everyone around him miserable, or him trying.

Anyway, he started trying to tell me what to do, I would ignore him, then he started yelling at me in front of customers, I told him to mind his own f__king business and he took it as a really bad personal insult (this was all in front of people, he was screaming, cussing and jumping around behind his counter). We have known each other for maybe 2-3 years by now. It's a shame it's ended this way (and this has not ended, not yet anyway).

Well it looks like it has been deleted.
I flip stuff all the time these days. If I find any niche I can exploit I do. For some reason many people seem disgusted by this. There some who seem to think that making any kind of profit is evil. As long as I am not hurting anyone I don't see the problem.
If I spend an entire Saturday morning combing through yard sales and find an SNES for $10 that I will sell for $30 on Amazon I am not exactly rolling in the dough. It takes a lot of time and knowledge to be able to tell if a profit can be made on a particular item. I have friends making a living off of vinyl because they know what is valuable and what is not. No one rips on antique dealers for doing the exact same thing.
When a situation like Nathanallan's come's up who wouldn't exploit the hell out of it.
In short that guy can go to hell. If he doesn't like it he can do what every one else does, vote with his dollars.

Oh, I flip stuff, too, but not at a rate like that. a dollar into 15? Nah, that's not how I figure things these days. I'm also a collector (of sorts) and love to get a great deal just like anybody else, even when I have spare funds, so I do markup but not much. Example, I have some anime for sale that I have 6-10 marked on it, but I paid almost that much. My main profession is fixing computers, that's my degree, not gaming and anime. That's the fun stuff at the end of the day

That's the one guy, not sure who is posting anything or spreading any rumors. Pretty sure, but not 100%. I'm secretly hoping he impersonates me again and slaps that lawsuit that CL says they will press if their terms are violated.

Well, the way it looked from that listing was that they were just on super-ultra clearance for 99¢, which department stores are known to do when they absolutely must unload outdated merchandise. I've bought a couple shirts for $3 each at Target and they are really nice T-shirts quality-wise (some of the best I have in terms of fit and comfort).

OK, are you SURE this isn't my former Play N Trade boss?

It seems all game stores are owned by people with mental instabilities...maybe because there's no real money in it? That's the reason I never went into that business at least...

LOL nah, not that I know of. But I see what you mean, most private owners I have known have been a bit out there. I have known a few Gamestop/Gamekrazy managers that were cool as hell, though. I try really hard to be the cool as hell one

Hey Nathanallan, my friend. I want to help you by flagging this bastard, but the listings have been removed by the author. I tried the link from youtube as well. What can I do to help?
