take a hint, kids.
The iTunes platform is shit.
You don't have the option of downloading multiple times which is a consumer argument in its own right despite content tracking, and there are no guidelines from apple set in stone as to what is acceptable content for developers. So they invest & exist at the whims of Steve Jobs' communist-state-like tech-groupies.
No thanks. iPass.
This may be the case with movies/music and other stuff regulated by d-bag organizations like the RIAA and MPAA (and I assure you those asshats are the cause), but all Apps can be downloaded as many times as you like from the app store and I have done so before so I can vouch from personal experience.
Can we please require that people actually have a minimal functional understanding of the iPhone before shitting on it?
Seriously, fuck off with the holier than thou attitude.
You couldn't go one response without putting your foot in your mouth.
The inconsistency is a design flaw, like it or not. Passing the blame of the end result using semantics doesn't rectify my opinion, or the observable facts that I shared in supporting it. As 'a platform' it 'is shit'.
I use the iTunes store. How can that be any less enlightening than what 'you' experience? I don't understand how worshiping a product 'sold' to you can inspire your constant griefer attitude towards everybody else.Originally Posted by 17daysolderthannes
I FULLY understand that this thread had nothing to do with the iPhone until you subtly offered it as a sarcastic solution, then answered a question about it's games with a "No, but (Insert opinion on why they're shit anyway here.)" response, then insinuated your continuously off topic bottom line:

Thank you, Knuckle Duster, for acknowledging that 17days's slavering, gibbering iPhone fanaticism has once again derailed another thread.
The rose-tinted, candy-coated, anime-eyed version of iPhone Land is a charming place, for sure, but if we'll return to reality for a moment we'll find that the TC has reached resolution. I purchased a $20 points card tonight, added the funds to my "wallet," and downloaded the following PS1 games ($5.99 each):
Castlevania Chronicles
Command & Conquer: Red Alert
Ray-Man 2: The Great Escape
I'm very excited about games #3 and #1 (respectively). #2, I have a feeling I'll regret purchasing...
Now we can get back to what this (and apparently every other thread on this whole fucking site) is really about.
Back to you, 17days.
Whatever you do, dont buy movies off of PSN. I recently sold my 60 gig to buy a slim....Even if you backup the movies, you cant play them on another playstation....They now have a way to transfer between playstations, but good luck getting it to work....I tried 4 times and each time, i got an error at 99%.....I lost all my shows......cant redownload them without paying....what a crock.....
Now on my 360, I bought a new elite, recovered my gamertag, and was surprised that it allowed me to redownload and play all my purchased videos on this new system just by recovering my tag.......
I agree with this, or at least I used to. Stores now charge tax when you purchase a Wii Points card. Not sure about XBL and PSN cards. Even the cashier was surprised. Of course, I declined the sale because I am not paying tax on what is essentially a gift card.Originally Posted by Melf
From what I understand, there's currently a distinction between 'currency' and 'credits' - with the PSN you're not literally transferring money from your bank account into your PSN account, you're purchasing £x.xx worth of credit and transferring that into your account. The same applies to Microsoft's Live network, only it's referred to as Microsoft Points as they're pushing to use MSP for everything with the Live branding.
There's a legal difference between having stored currency, which means you need the same level of protection as a bank account both to protect you and your money, and the companies from stuff like money laundering - and a 'credit' account, that's regulated primarily by the supplier. It's bureaucratic as hell to verify your info in Paypal, for example, whereas attaching a credit or debit card to Xbox Live is relatively no trouble at all.
[edit] uh, so to implement your solution would be a shitload of trouble for Sony; some consultant somewhere has probably worked out exactly the right amount of scrip people are willing to buy in one go, and have just run with that for efficiency's sake.
