Default Do you play old game saves from thrift store finds?

I sometimes like the fact that thrift store game carts have saved games on them, especially if the person got really far into the game. But most times I erase any saved games from thrift finds because I want to experience all the earlier levels. Anyone else play the game saves from thrift store finds?
    It is finished!

Yes, especially if it's a game I've nto been able to get that far in. The only time I've played th efinal level in Shadows of the Empire was on a rental who someone else had beaten already. (and that last level is pretty awesome)

I don't play them but sure make happy knowing the battery backup is alive and well.

I try to keep them if possible. I hate to just delete someone's hard work. It's like when I get games with handwritten notes on sheets in the manual or the original receipt. I keep it for character value.

I got Jungle Strike a couple weeks ago, someone had written notes and codes for each level in the manual. I though that was awesome!

But to the original question, yes!, its always fun to see how far someone else got in the game that you are playing

Oh, and its always fun to get a thrift store cart where someone used a crazy or funny character name like "assface". I found a cart that someone else had used that as their name. Very funny stuff.

I change the batterie backup every time I buy a game with save games. Why? Most likely, if the battery has not failed already, it´s going to fail in a few months or years. Replacing with a high quality cr2032 will make MY savegames last for another 10-15 years.

I usually wipe the previous owner's files, but it is cool to see what the previous owner's tastes were. I recently bought a PS1 memory card at a local thrift shop, and when I got it home I found that card almost completely filled with nothing but racing game saves. In this case, I got to see that the previous gamer was really into racing games.

Back when I worked at Play N Trade, whenever we would get a PSP in for some sort of repair, my co-worker would look at their memory card (if they forgot to take it out) to see what kind of fucked up stuff was on it. One kid had all sorts of anime tentacle porn and nasty ass hardcore porn on it...and he was like, 12.

I normally just erase them, but it is interesting to see what games people were playing (memory cards).

That's a pretty disturbing thought. Did your co-worker take it off the memory card?

I would if I was him. I know you could get in deep shit for it, but I highly doubt he is going to come back(With his mom, most likely, since he's 12) and be like:"Why did you delete my Anime porn and shit?".

I erase them (both cart and mem cards). In fact, I'm in the process of erasing all the memory from a used original Xbox I just bought (including dozens of Pop music cds). I wan't my stuff to be mine. Lol. If it's a save from a family member or friend, then I cherish them and keep them forever (or until the batteries run-out, where applicable. Lol).
