The first controller in your third post is a Master System/Game Gear Plug 'n Play.
It is called Playpal Plug & Play with 20 games.
    It has:
10 Master System Games, 6 Game Gear games and 4 games that were on both.
I have the portable version, which you can also hook up to your T.V.
    It has :
16 Master System games, 3 Game Gear games and 1 that was on both.

The blue Radica strangely has a different lineup of games than the red one. Can't remember what's on it atm.

I have a Menacer light gun game and since I read this thread I might paint mine black. I, too, want to make it work as a real menacer for the Genesis.
I'm not gonna go get humped by a giant red ape in space.

That would be sweeeeeeet. Keep me updated on that one my friend. How awesome would it be to be able to play the 6 in 1 cart with a wired gun peripheral that is actually accurate.

gah, I wished I picked up that Menacer plug n play. The real Menacer is a battery rapist and I prefer a pistol to a big ass hand cannon.

i never saw those twin pads before,it's a really nice idea.
Some of those plug & play looks really cool, i would like to take a couple of them and make them work as real pads, like the red&blue 6 buttons, or the one you've linked with sonic's artwork on it

The Star Wars games on this PNP and the Millenium Falcon PNP are 16-bit era games. Were they never released to Genesis, only SNES?
    It is finished!

Ugly bunch of things, these plug & plays. The only one I have is a Master System / GG thing (this one - not too helpful but can't be bothered to find a better link. Sorry. :/)

It runs Triple Trouble (GG only Sonic game) on your tv, but at the wrong speed. Nicer than destroying my eyes on an actual console, but not at all preferable to the version on the PS2 collection.

Yeah, the sports ones are not the same because the first player controller has the brains of the stem in it behind the center of the controller, making it rather uncomfortable. If you want that one so bad, just buy a genesis and get the carts.

The games on that Star Wars plug N play are all based on episode III, Revenge of the Sith (2005). They do feel 16-bit, but I doubt the individual titles were released prior to that date, and I'm pretty certain none of the individual titles were released during the 16-bit era, at any rate.

The truth is that the games aren't very good. It was just a marketing technique (or a hit below the belt, I should say) by Lucas LTD. I'm not very impressed with the games, but I still have fun with them. The music for all of the games is great, however.

Here's my vid on fixing my own when I first grabbed it. Skip to the end for gameplay footage:
