you know, if he put a cabinet door on the bottom and painted it and put some graphics, it might look a little more arcade-ish. I smell a project![]()
A more advanced project would imply to remove the plastic casing of the TV and build a wood enclusure for the CRT tube and chasis, then add a backlit marquee above it too...., which is just what I do not want to do, I just want to keep it simple, just a shelf to place the joystick + CRT TV with component video inputs, I am not a carpenter, so i dont want to end turning this into some sort of Frankenstein, It is considered horrible by my girlfriend in the way it is now.
No. Though, I did see an Altered Beast machine just sitting in an empty window front of an abandon building, in some forgotten downtown of some small, middle of nowhere city. It was the last thing I expected to see there.
In regards to the Happ sticks, in the 90's the original Happ sticks were manufactured in Europe w/ cherry microswitches. But, within the last few years they attempted to cut corners and lower manufacturing costs.
The new sticks (they are on the X-arcade) are manufactured in China and are complete garbage. If you want an American style bat top IL is the way to go. I have them installed on my Neo Geo.
