    Yeah, that's why there's no official Wii VGA cable.

    Is it that the games aren't rendered in 480p, or that the consoles were designed to not output the standard render resolution. (ie DC renders in 480p or upscales any lower res stuff, then converts that to 480i -disadvantage is for stuff that could have been 240p/60 fps, but I think those cases are rare)
    I don't know how exactly it works, but it would seem to be the same as with Gamecube. One of the guys who worked on MadWorld said that the game doesn't support progressive scan for performance reasons. I don't think progressive scan affects performance on Dreamcast or Xbox, but it seems to with PS2 and Gamecube (and Wii).

    And in addition to holding "B" while booting you also have to hit "A" a few seconds later to select progressive scan: this is because a message is displayed asking whether you want to enable 480p, but you can't see it if your TV/monitor won't show 480i.
