The developer of this game doesnt exist anymore and doesnt even have a Wikipedia page. Was wondering if anyone had any info on them ? I mean for the sequel they changed developers and it shows but when you click on their Wiki page it takes you straight to Activision so I need that cleared up as well.

If you want a list of games they made:
    http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/company/76357.html

Btw, wasn't there another game that had graphics/sounds just like the X-Men games and Ex-Mutants?

Spider-Man the animated series game, by the same developer, has a very similar style.

This is a strange one for me. I'm really not very good at it and yet over the years I keep coming back for more and enjoy it even though I keep dying. I can't really explain why I enjoy it so much when it's sequel, which I also own, is the better game in terms of both graphics and gameplay. I'm complete crap at this as I've said and can't get past the third level but, yeah, I still really like it. I love playing as Gambit, my favourite member of the X-Men, but everyone tells me he's one of the worst to play as in this game so maybe that is my problem.

I took the liberty of playing through this game a while back to see if I still hate it. Yep, I still do. I don't know how this game gets an 8/10 on here. The reviewer sets the bar low, I guess.

This game gets a 3/10 from me, and that's just because it has X-Men in it.

Wow, that's an incredible and bizarre assumption to make. I've never used cheats and I never noticed a difference in sprite size, but to me X-Men 2 is just the better game in every way possible. The first game slogs along haphazardly with a poor framerate and feels like a chore to play, but the second one is fast-paced and reeks of much more polish. Admittedly I've spent far less time with the first game, but that's mostly due to how little there is to make me want to keep playing; it's just tedious.

i enjoyed it as a kid, but playing it now i totally see the terrible collision detection and spotty platforming. The sound fx are very unappealing and though the helper mutant is neat, but too bad you couldn't play as the others. still, this was the best one could get at the time for a faithful comic adaptation.

Spotty platforming? You mean the double tap jump faster for greater hight on the jump? Even with that I had no issue, and I enjoy the platforming in X1 VS no platforming and jumpy camera of X2. What I really missed in X2. X2 feels much more like a straight up beat em up.

And you really don't love the sound fx of X1? I absolutely love it. Also some of the most memorable sound fx from that era for me. Made and still makes me Genesis owner proud... actually, all of X1 does.
The double jump seems delayed, never quite working when i need it but that might be me. the hit detection problems are when trying to hit a boss or enemy, it never feels like you really connect, just kinda "whiffing" around until it registers. the spotty platforming are those times when you should have landed the jump but fell through it. nothing felt solid, chakan has the same feel to it.

the graphics are on point though and the music is good, but those SFX need an upgrade. SPLAT!
