I like AoSTH, but I've never been able to figure out what was up with Tails' eyes... (you can't just blame cheap animation either as it's not a common problem with other characters) Actually I think it carried over to SatAM to some degree, so it can't be due to animation quality.
I don't see it that much. He looks pretty innocent in both the box art (JP and US) and sprites of Sonic 2 and 3/K and not too much different in the models used for SA1 and 2. (maybe in the art) I can certainly see it more in some later games (and art) though.
And I don't even want to bring this up: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51AH7KP4RRL.jpg but I just did... (the Japanese voice sounds like a little girl and yet it's still a lot better than the English dub...)
Hmm, I don't remember that though I've only seen parts of it (probably around 1/2 the movie in various pieces).
I thought that girl was the President's daughter whom Eggman (yes, Eggman) had kidnapped and was trying to marry.
The OVA is fairly mediocre, but the dub takes that, after 3 years, and converts it with some of the worst (if not the worst) voice actors to grace ANY sonic TV series or game... (Sonic X -yes, the edited 4kids dub beats in pretty much every category -animation quality, writing/plot, voice acting)
Makes for some youtube hilarity though:

Eye candy.
Double duh?
I still hate that he's called Eggman here now.
Totally ruined the serious plot of Sonic 2006 (while it's a terrible game it's story was actually pretty interesting)
...and I never got my merit badge (in the form of rep) for figuring the Sonic 3 cylinders out back in 1994.
But his name is and always was Eggman. He only was called 'Robotnik' in SOA's Sonic manual. They turned him into a Russian because we all know that Russians are EVIL!
Also American and European factories don't polute the planet. Only Soviet factories did.
The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.
Then we set about developing killer games.
