i find it amazing on a sega themed board, that a thread on the gamecube would not include super monkey ball

that game (and smb2) is old school arcade awesome. it may look cute, but try playing through the expert boards sometime.

just make sure you have a good analog stick

i would also recommend the gameboy advance player. you can find them for 10 bucks at gamestop, and that alone is the best reason to own a gamecube these days.

I have heard good things about Monkey Ball....I'll have to try it sometime. Is the premise a monkey balancing on a ball, or?

You know that "labyrinth" game where you move that wooden board to roll the ball along the track without falling into the holes?

That's the premise of Monkey Ball. The monkey's in the ball.

Ahhh...gotcha. The Japanese seem to be big on 'skill' games like that I have noticed...many imports like Pachinko and the ones where you have to guide a 'line' or a sword tip through a maze...hmmmm..

Yard sale season is here, meaning pre-2000 gaming goodies en mass!

My wife is off today so its off to the GoodWills. We have seven in this area that we hit in regular rotation, several of them will hold things for us as well!
(TIP: make FRIENDS with GoodWill employees..TRUST me on this )

If it wasn't mentioned before, give the GC SA: DX and SA2: Battle a try.

Monkey Ball is a fun game and I once owned it (SMB2) for the GameCube, but it gets very challenging very quickly. I got a little frustrated that by the third world, more and more of the levels required more luck than skill to get through. I eventually reached a point where the difficulty became ridiculous, and I never picked it up again.

    Monkey Bowling is awesome, though.

That's another one I picked up... my GFs choice.
I haven't played it yet... it looks super silly.

Super silliness is part of Monkey Ball's charm.

It has some great multiplayer modes, though.

Lol... watching my girl play games and get all giggly gives me enough enjoyment alone. Granted, it looks like a fun game so I'm sure I'll take some turns.

We were playing some Marble Ball puzzle thing on Wii last night and it was nuts. can't remember the name, it's around $15 new in stores atm
