Mega Man "Universe"

I usually leave it to the kids over at Gamespot* to create threads like this, but I'm just enough of a Mega Man nut to bring the wacky fan-boyism and impotent speculation to Sega-16.

But check this out.

Mega Man Universe? I can only assume that is a reference to Mega Man World, only with a bigger, bolder emphasis. Perhaps a compilation of all ten original Mega Man games? Maybe another "Allstars" update?

Anyone here have any guesses, or even care?**

It would be rather pointless to speculate on the meaning of "Universe", as there are litterally a million things it could mean, but I'm very hopeful, since Capcom's track reccord is almost as spotless as can be, and both of the newer Mega Man games were great.

PS. Damn Capcom is all gun'ho on Mega Man lately(Mega 9, and 10 were released very close to one another, now another Mega Man is in the works, wow, I wonder what triggered this reaction(My best guess would be, that Mega Man 9 was such a run away success, that logic dictated thay had to make more Mega Man games right away).

It's ashame other companies don't follow Capcom's lead when it comes to design philosophy.

It seems that many interweb folks are coming to the conclusion that this is going to be some sort of MMO.

That's idiotic.

The Gameboy games were known as "Rockman World," right? So this is bigger than "world;" it's the universe. I'm expecting some sort of rehash, and that's okay as long as it's just a re-release of a compilation we already have.

I can easily see the lightweight MMO potential here, but then I'd expect it to have the name "Battle Network" somewhere. Maybe they're trying to 1-UP Mario Galaxy?

Of course, just because they've trademarked something doesn't mean anything will come of it. Remember Ghosts & Goblins Online?

A Mega Man MMO would be awesome if they did it right. Odds are it will be Queer as Folk, though.
