E3 is underway and it didn't take Sega long to drop a bombshell on old school fans. Next year, we can expect a return of that classic franchise, Golden Axe! Golden Axe already returned on the PS2 under the guise of Sega Classics. Everyone loved it without exception. Obviously Sega has no interest in programming Golden Axe games themselves anymore, but hopefully Secret Level can do a better job than 3D Ages did. I will now forget about this announcement until I see screens and/or video as Golden Axe doesn't exactly get my heart pumpin'.

Great news, this is the first I had heard of this. It's good to see Sega return to its roots and renew old classics. I wasn't too sure about the new version of Altered Beast on PS2, but hopefully this will be awesome.
Don't forget through, there has already been an RPG based upon the Golden Axe Series (Called Golden Axe Warrior for the Master System) - also a very under-rated game at the time.

I'm Scared, Overworks (not that there a Dev team anymore there part of WOW) is not working on this game. Secret Level is working on it. There biggest project was America's Army: Rise of a Soldier along with the America's Army Team and UBIsoft and Final Fight: Streetwise Xbox Port.
So Golden Axe is there first big solo game.
