    Default Mortal Kombat CD

Controversial, innovative, all flash and no substance: Mortal Kombat has been called it all. When the famous fighter eventually made its way to the Sega CD, fans were hoping for a true system seller that would blow every other version out of the water. Did they get it? Not...exactly. Read our write up and see why perhaps this trip to the Outworld wasn't really necessary.

Found a typo, "Call me old fashioned, but three block buttons is two too many."
good article by the way. It's too bad they screwed up what could have been the best home version of the game.

It should read "three" instead of "two."

I figured he only wanted one, but I agree. Block buttons suck.

I remember reading something along the lines of "...try playing Street Fighter following a hundred matches in Mortal Kombat". XD I forgot where I read it though.

When I wrote the review, I was thinking that I only wanted a single block button, actually. But I must agree that block buttons are the spawn of the devil.

Still, if Mortal Kombat wants a block button, it can have it. Just not more than one.

If memory serves, the actor playing Rayden was told to yell gibberish. He's just screaming random letters jammed together.

I feel this should be one of NBC's "The More You Know" commercials. It's a lot more entertaining than Donald Trump telling you that smoking is bad.

Remeber when you played Mortal Kombat years ago and you would have arguements with your roommates about what Raiden said while doing his torpedo attack? The actor who played Raiden ,Carlos Pesina, was actualy told to just yell gibberish while flying across the room. They then jammed it together in the sound room.

Man, I feel so much better now knowing that. Seriously.

    Thanks, guys!

...was the actor's name really Carlos Pesina?

Yes. And his brother, Dan, played Johnny Cage and the ninjas.

...Johnny Cage and the Ninjas. That sounds like a great name for a band.

"Tiger-bit-my-leg!" was always my interpretation. These were silly times.
